Sneaking a win myself. Doug talked me (it wasn't hard) into going fishing again tomorrow, even tho Sunday night I'm going with my sis-in-law on an overnight retreat to do some "crafting". (She is super talented, it should be fun.) Now I'm of to deal with Mom:ack:. Wish me luck.

Hi folks ..
Im am so proud of all of you . You go through so much but still keep your chins up big KUDOS to you all. I know its not easy and takes a big toll on you. I just wish you could all get a break from it.
I feel that superhuman does not even begin to discribe you all. The biggest hugs and love to you all my friends. ❤💙💜💛💚💋💋💋💋:ghug:

Thanks, Mandy.

How's Sheddie after all the excitement Carol?
And yourself?
Kirsty...everything will define itself sooner or later...it's so hard going through all that
Feel better soon.
Sandy Happy fishing be careful to avoid the Sharks and whales...
Mandy..how's our babe doing?......
Shanen hope your post means you are feeling better
Hi Ron...all the best...I know you are in the background keeping a watchful eye
Winning.....

Ha ha! Sharks and whales in Utah! (They'll fit right in with the sagebrush and prickly pear cacti.)
Kirst, how's the infection, any better? And that is indeed very strange about the copper levels. Shanen, I hope you survive your family reunion, and actually have a good time. If not, maybe Carol can set you free along with Shedward. :ylol: Ron, I hope you and your wife have some fun plans this weekend. You deserve something fun yourselves! (I'll bet Mandy visits little Jaxon :) for her fun.)

Safely arrived and was a beautiful night for a campfire. Chronies persevere. Enough relatives to entertain everyone. Early arrival guarantees best lawn chair placement to watch the rest get situated. Not so bad but as a loner (and I enjoy it) crowds can be suffocating. I'm rooting for Shedward. Take care of him and yourself as well Carol.

Hi Trysha our babe is doing well, he now weighs 7lb 8oz so he is gaining now after a slow start. Hope your doing as well as poss..💕💕

Sandy happy fishing hope you have a lovely relaxing time.. 💕

Carol Shedwards claim to fame is by knowing you, he has already traveled half the world (via here) ☺💕

Shanen hope your reunion goes well and you have a safe trip 💕

Ron take care and thanks for keeping your eye on us girls here. Although you do know it wont make us behave any better 😆💕

Love n hugs to all 💕💕:ghug:

Well what an exciting and enjoyable weekend for some of you. We've got a couple of goings on at the quay and coast over the weekend. The weathers not going to be perfect but people will come and make the place untidy and noisey as usual. The good thing is we're not far from home so can make a run for it when we've had enough (probably after 10mins hahaha)
Plan B....Alarm's going on for 4am tomorrow. No people about and very little traffic.Les is going to put him on the roof then come in and leave him to it.(We have a balcony outside the bedroom).Yesterday he flew a few feet off the ground, after getting caught in the trellis, then wandered up the main road with the rush hour traffic.Les stopped the traffic and after a comic style caper, caught him and brought him back, all the while being attacked by the parents......:ack: And this is why we only had one child ;)

I have just finished reading your post out to Steve, we are wishing you well for the 4 am time slot. Also we look forward to the next instalment.
Shannen, glad you arrived safe, I hope it goes well.
Sandy, my infection has cleared but as I use nasal, steroids everyday the lining of my nasal passages are raw so I have antibiotic cream to help them heal.
Trysha, I so wish I had you patience, to be honest I am at my wits end with the copper and hypos, shakes and migraines, plus my normal aches and pains. That s my vent, sorry, I'm just frustrated.

Kirsty, don't you dare apologise !!! I think it does us good to let people know how bad things are.Especially your crohnie family. We tend to keep a lot of things to ourselves in "real" life,so as not to get on peoples nerves or try their patience,or keep repeating ourselves.I'm (we're) all very fond of you,and hope you get some relief from it all very soon.Until then, you give vent all you need to.The same goes for all of you.As my dear old Dad used to say "better out than in".hahaha

I'm making the effort to get out on the bike soon. It's been a week, for one reason and another......

Aw Kirsty what a time you have of it. As Carol says dont be sorry, vent, moan, whinge any or all of the above whenever you need to. We know how hard it is and understand the need to vent...this crohnie family is always here for you if n when you need to let of steam.💕

Love n hugs to the rest of the family 💕💕 :ghug:

Kirsty...I echo Carols words.
It is important to feel able to have a moan and groan and express the frustration that goes with a chronic illness....what better place than the forum.
There is so much to contend with..it is important to note that we are not the sum total of our lab reports or any other medical reports.
We do have to live alongside them...sometimes takes enormous patience and long suffering.
The forum has been designed for people to vent as well as to ask questions and learn from each other....as well as to care for each other.
Don't let the illness win...fight back...I think you do this rather well.
I look forward to hearing how you are and the lovely pictures you post.
Never give up...never give in...is my motto.
So Shedward is spreading his wings.....hope he survives after all that you have done for him Carol
Imagine running up the highway to chase after a delinquent bird....unbelievable!
Time for mum and dad to be taking back their offspring...they should do the training...
Mandy lovely news about our babe thank you for sharing. All too soon they grow up on us.
Today I had a bad experience while eating...suddenly the mechanism stopped and I could not bear the choking sensation well after the food left my throat.
Two years ago the GI widened the esophageal narrowing and now much to my chagrin it has returned
It can be solid or fluids....just get stuck.
Why can't things stay put once dealt with. Now I have to go through all that again.
Still...scopes were on the books but the GI said he wanted to wait since the surgery inside was still healing.
What would we do without some excitement in our lives?.?.?
Winning....

Oh they do grow up far to quickly .. the wee monkey will be starting school b4 we know it lol..
Sorry your having trouble with your osophagus, my son had to have his stretched as a child n on odd occasions has some feeling of things sticking. So far he has got away without another stretch...
Love n hugs to you hun. 💕💕

He's still here !!! Les says the time isn't right with lots going on locally over the weekend.
His sibling has gone from the nest area and his parents are only coming once or twice a day. He's def.going on Monday !!! I'm tougher about all thing wild, than Les.He picks worms up from the street and puts them in gardens and will stop the car to let a frog or caterpillar cross. But he just wants to be sure and give him the best chance.
MANDY.....They've got school uniforms on offer at Tescos !!!

Tho I couldn't say so sooner, ditto what everyone has said Kirsty! You said you admire Trysha's patience, I think I can say we all admire yours. Trysha, you have a way with words I admire so much. Everyone here has something I admire, kindnesses, ways with words, sense of humor, sensitivity to nature, and on and on. (No wonder Robert doesn't post here anymore. He couldn't handle all the "niceness," tho we know he is a kind soul under all his bantering. Hugs to you Robert, we know it is your favorite thing:ybiggrin::ytongue::ack:;)).

We did our fishing thing yesterday in spite of a huge emotional meltdown and headache on my part. I scared all the fish away with my attitude and Doug caught his limit (and big ones to boot!). All the bank fishermen were watching Doug closely as he caught fish after fish (no one else was catching much), and were oohing and aweing and asking what he was using for bait. It was fun watching Doug do so well. That's my man!

Below are some photos from our fishing trip, multiple views of the lake, Mount Baldy and sunset on the way home. The lake is Lost Lake (but it's not very lost, it's right on the highway), which is different from Lost Lake Reservoir, another place we commonly fish.

Beautiful

Carol....since Shedward has been raised by aliens he cannot be expected to function at the same level as his sibling( s)....he's just a bit slow on the uptake..maybe you should speak louder to him in bird language...if you don't speak his language there's bound to be a tutorial in the local library that might be helpful.
Mandy....don't you think it's a bit early for school uniforms?
Sandy ......those pictures are quite beautiful and very well taken..how beautiful those spacious skies.....
Thank you for your kind words you are so thoughtful yourself and I think you cope very well with a heavy burden to carry.
Hi to Shanen and Ron..
Winning.....

Shedward...here is some advice from Jonathan Seagull......when he discovers the technique of flying......

How much more there is now to living,
Instead of our drab slogging forth and back to the fishing boats, there's reason to life.
We can lift ourselves out of ignorance,
We can find ourselves as creatures of excellence, intelligence and skill
We can be free
We can learn to fly.
(Jonathan Livingstone Seagull....Richard Bach)

It is still very hot here and sadly in need of rain...the grass is so parched and golden
No green left

Fabulous pictures Sandy, congrats to Doug for the fine catch! Howdy everyone, hey Trev I'm in the Naki again what are you up to? Steve is with me he has a week off. We are in Fitzroy. I love road trips, we had a great one today. Stay safe everyone

You too

Loved all the above posts, the pics and the poetry.Thankyou so much.
Going down to the quay to the Lifeboat gala, with friends.Les will spend all his time looking for other young'ns (gulls not kids) I really hope today will be Shedwards last day of imprisonment. He really needs to be away now.I think the plan is to take him down to the quay,it's just down the bank about half a mile. There's a little beach and rocks and roofs over the fish processing shops, and his folks won't be far away..

Early tomorrow morning before the workers and dog walkers show up.:dusty:

Had a great day.Lots of bikers showing off their rides, each one better than the next.Love the trikes and there was one with a sleeping trailer ( with awning)on the back.It was FAB.and for sale at £15,000.There was another which belonged to a disabled chap.He just rolled his wheelchair into the back and the motor bike handle bars and controls were in his reach.Amazing !!!.
I bought a lovely necklace,pewter celtic cross,quite big,on a long chain £3...a bargain.

No young gulls to be seen though.Maybe to many people and to much going on.

Carol...did you mean a person when you said the old one is not working out or
Did you mean a fitness programme.?
Sooner or later Shedward must fly...fly...fly away to the blue yonder.
Usually they try on their own without prompting when they are ready.
Maybe he has grown too fond of his foster parents and their generous fish supply.
Hi Kirsty..good to hear from you and that you are enjoying a holiday
Sandy...your pictures are so lovely I keep going back to look at them.
Hi Shanen,Mandy and Ron.
I leave in the early am for Quebec tomorrow.....so my next post will be from the shores of the St.Lawrence Seaway.
Winning...........

Thanks Ron
Have to get up at 4am...it's an early start to a twelve hour journey with a few breaks.
It is a brand new luxury coach so should be comfortable.
See you from Quebec...
Cheers
Trysha

Thanks Shanen
Watch this space..........

You could take Shedward if you're getting up so early,I'm sure he won't care whether he's on the Tyne or the St.Lawrence.....and neither will I.

On with the day,I would be unstoppable if I could only get started.:frown:

Hi you all ☺☺
Happy travels Trysh hope u have a fine time on your trip..💕
Ye its a bit early for uniforms,il have to wait a while me thinks 😕💕

Im ok battling on as per usual.. its gotta be done or might as well give up n im no quitter 😉

Had a good little trip with Lorelei, came home and took a long nap. Doug sent me a pic of Allie last night to keep me company.
Sorry the pic is so big, no matter how many times I've edited the size, it appears the same in this post.
Collage%202016-07-19%2001_13_39-1_zpskxetufdi.jpg

Sandy, are you sure Allies comfortable enough ? I think she might need a cushion or two.
I hope you enjoyed your "crafty" getaway hahaha.

Shedward has gone.Took him early today as the tide was ebbing.Had a few stumbles and kept returning to Les.He was a wee bit apprehensive about going in the sea,but some other young'ns came to investigate, and he eventually went off with them.Last seen bobbing about in a crèche, quite happily.Les is hosing out the shed and applying strong disinfectant.(Jeyes Fluid).

Isn't it discouraging that it's so much easier to get older than it is to get wiser ?

Trysha, hope you are well and really enjoying your trip.

Bye, Shedward! It's been wonderful knowing you! Be safe out in the wild blue yonder!

(Shedward deserved his own post.)
Yes, Carol, I had a great time with my sis-in-law, Lorelei. She had a "kit" with pre-provided materials to make 20 cards, so she made 10 and I made 10. She had her 10 made, beautifully and professional looking, plus had watched 3/4ths of a movie, by the time I finished my 10, which looked like the amateur I am. I learned a lot though.
We had wonderful facilities, it was like a fully equipped, very clean, spacious condo in a mountain/country setting, with beautiful picturesque views out the back windows esp. (in the room we were working from). Each unit also had it's own private walled-in patio with bbq facilities. There were also tennis courts, a golf course, swimming pool and hot tub which we didn't take advantage of (no time and/or energy and/or ability).
And yes, Allie was comfortable on her cushion throne. She always climbs on top of the biggest pile of cushions and pillows she can find, and I tend to stack big piles to lean on while watching TV (we fight over who owns them frequently.):ylol2:

Aw sounds like u had a great time Sandy. Now come on girl u know the cushions are rightfuly Allies. Her cute wee face says as much 😆. 💕💕

Love to all💚💛💜
Just spent the day with our baby so im a happy bunny 🐇 ☺☺💕💕

Let's see what Sandy has to say about this. I think we should take a week off from fishing because next week we have a family reunion camping trip where we will be in the mountains From Thursday through the next Tuesday. (6 days). Camping, by a lake. Hmm.

Since I have to respond publicly now, I'm tempted to say no just to be obstinate.:eek2: But actually, I probably could use the break too.:ycool:

And yes, Allie usually wins. We know who is the queen of this (giggle, falling apart) castle. Allie is alpha dog here.🐕

Glad you saw your little fella Mandy. He's lucky to have grandma happy bunny. 💛🐇

Sending a big Hello from the coach which has WIFI...want to see if it works
Have been touring Quebec City today and then Montreal.
Now returning to Cape de Madeleine,Trois Riviere...can't get any circumflex or accents
on this American iPad keyboard...(philistines!)......could it be Trumps fault with his insular notions!,?
Winning......

It is either Trumps insular notions or Hillary's criminal ways, that's all I know.
American keyboards do have hidden ways to add accents or circumflex, but they are usually hard to find, as seldom used here. I was going to demonstrate by adding some (know they are here somewhere, I've seen them before...), but can't find them. We must be philistines.

Hey everyone. Looks like I missed a lot of talk! Hope you all are doing good!

Sandy, we are planning a trip to Vegas and Grand Canyon for labor day. Is it going to be too hot? :(

It's been far to hot the last few days to do much of anything,I'm still keen, but not at any expense.........I bet your vacation is just a distant memory now,but at least you have something to look forward to on Labour Day.

Yup dont venture out in the heat. It is SO bad here too. Was a bit skeptical about the Labor day trip since I think we are going to be fried. But hey, I complain about the winter more than this :)

I've just had a nice "refreshing" shower and am wearing a lightweight kaftan.......And the perspiration is dripping off the end of my nose.Cooler tomorrow,so planning a bike ride.

There is a saying, horses sweat, men perspire and ladies glow, well let me tell you,I'm up there with the equines.

Hi Madhu! I agree, very nice to see you. (And all.) I'll send you a PM about typical travel conditions at that time of year (so as not to bore everyone), but generally, the weather in Vegas will still be hot, probably in the 90s, but not as hot as July and August. The Grand Canyon will be significantly cooler, and if you can arrange to arrive there just before sunset the views will be even more breathtaking than you can imagine.
I wish we could arrange to take more time off and meet you at the Grand Canyon, it would be so lovely to meet you and it is one of my favorite places. (Plus, I've never been there with Doug.) We will be going on an almost week-long camping trip in just under a couple weeks, partly an annual tradition with my family in the area still, and partly a farewell to my mother who is moving to Indiana. (Because of her health she will only be up there for one day.)
Ok, I've rambled enough. Methinks I'm getting a migraine because I keep getting the classic "aura" (mostly visual disturbances, pre-headache) that comes with it. But sometimes it is just a "silent migraine" and the headache doesn't come at all. I'm hoping that is the case today. (See? I still ramble even when not well.)
With all that travel talk, happy day to all! :bigwave:

Sometimes, I get what they call ocular migraines. No pain just twirling lights in your eyes.

Yes, I've heard them called that too. The twirling lights and blind spots in the vision are sometimes enough to give one a headache in my opinion. Hugs!

(I hope you don't get them too often.)

No glowing here, it's downright HOT and dew point at 78 makes it definitely sweaty. Not liking it a bit.

Hi ya all ...having the sun shine is wonderful but it is a sweaty hot..love the the sun n the heat 😎 ,just not the sweating 😓

Keep well n safe everyone love n hugs.. 💕💕💋💋

Shedward has just showed up across the back near his nest site. He's begging mum for food, but she's ignoring him.Les put some stuff out for him,but he's keeping his distance, which is good. He'll not be keen to go back in the shed.

Poor Shedward....it's a cruel world out there...the others probably kicked him out....interesting he found his way back to his first home.
The parent birds may well reject him since his human upbringing.
It will be interesting to see what happens,,,,keep us posted Carol
Winning.....

Well, got some headache yesterday, but not a real bad one. The frustrating part was having the aura come and go (several times, unusual, and distracting). But by late evening, we were able to go out and buy a good quality tent (~gulp~ they've gotten expensive) as our trailer is not in good enough condition to use right now without putting more money into it than it is worth. We leave for our camping trip (with tent and queen sized air mattress) a week from today, I just realized. It snuck up! The thing I like is I only have to be in charge of one full meal for the hoards of people that will be there and just bring a couple ingredients (that I don't even have to cook) for a "joint meal". All other breakfasts and dinners provided by others.
Now, if someone would just provide packing and unpacking service, and room service, I really would be a happy camper.

Happy camping Sandy.. il do the packing n unpacking if i can come with you sounds fun ☺
Hope you have a great time hun when you get there. 💕

Oh Carol looks like Shedwards going to be around longer than expected 😕 you n Les must have been to good a host n hostess 💕

Loves n hugs to all hope all are well .:ghug: 💚💛💜

Im offering the packing/unpacking so if u offer the room service Ron ,i reckon we might be in with a chance to join in on the trip...fingers crossed 😆😆 💕

I'll help you Sandy.....after all I am an expert packer with current experience.but, will need room and board...
It's surprising how many patients suffer from visual auras without the headaches.
It is very disconcerting and inconvenient...I get them too as well as the migraine headaches
but sometimes just the aura.
I am going to ask my neurologist about this when I see him next Monday.
Likely answer...it's an age thing.....
Had a great day in Montreal at the Oratory...very historic.
Lovely summer day temperature just right.
Tomorrow we are homeward bound...long drive...about 12hours with two stops.
Winning.......

Room service in a tent? I thought intensive care was something completely different. Learn something every day.

Even with a trailer I don't get room service. I'm in...where do I meet you Sandy? 😊

No need to worry about Shedward. The beach we released him on is only a few wing flaps away. His parents have just dropped in for a feed,as they have been doing for years. They will keep an eye on this years young until next years breeding season.Even then they are tolerated around the nesting sight whereas strangers are attacked on sight.Of course eggs and young are never left unattended.
Managed a bike ride today as it's a bit cooler, but glad to be home.

Just had a giggle to myself,I'm beginning to sound like Davina Attenborough.:ylol2:
