Last one wins PG version 4.0

Thanks Tony,we're good for now.It can only ever be one day at a time but we're doing OK. shopping, walks lots of conversations. He's eating good, sleeping good etc.but memory is iffy. That's not important,I've always been his memory hahaha. It was our 57th anniversary yesterday....don't know where the years have gone

57 years wow , and I thought I was doing well at 37 , well like you my bh always remembers for me ,every single mistake I ever made (got caught)

several times now have woken in middle of the night and passed out twice. It is very quick and I make sure to sit upright for the rest of the night
Anyone else get this happeniing to them.
Drs office called today. Said to repeat potassium blood level since it is low.
I have not felt well this week.
hope Les continues to improve Carol.
winning for now…

That's got to be worrying when you're alone Trysha.I know you're sensible and will act accordingly, but please be aware if you leave home..I assume you've informed your doctor and I know you've had tests for everything going.I have known a few folk with low potassium levels but I'm not sure of the symptoms......Les is doing OK thanks and I'm trying not to look to far ahead for now.My brain is tired and steroids for inflammation are giving me some side effects and have informed gastr.Told me to stick it out as they're working.I was preping veg for soup etc at 4-30am....sleeps a problem, but at least I don't need to go out and earn a living or mind the grand=kids.....is your skin problem any better ?

The skin problem seems to have gone away..thanks to the prednisone Carol.
I have to repeat lab work …potassium is low.
feeling a bit better each day.
Sorry about your side effects and hope they soon resolve.
it seems the time of year for sleep problems…hope you will soon be back to normal.
winning…..

NORMAL ? hahaha

hey Trysha and Carol , Carol hope you can get off the steroids soon , they really help with inflammation but can really put you into a foggy state , hope you feel better soon Trysha

If you love someone set them free
If you dislike someone set them free
Basically, set everyone free and get a dog
People are annoying.......

Present company excepted of course.

You're all winners now because I came back before a year or two passed. :ROFLMAO: Just kidding, I'm the winner because you all remind me in your comments what wonderful people you are. It's nice that this crazy world still has people that care about each other. It sounds like life continues to give its share of problems though. Hugs to all of you.

I like the type of people whose sense of humour may be described as "inappropriate with a high chance of shenanigans
and mischief"....but you all know that eh?
Good to see you Sandy and I hope you and Doug are enjoying life....how 's your adoptive family and are your furry family still with you ? I hope so....
TRYSHA.....how are you ?

I think since I spoke last of my furbaby family, we've had a turnover. We now have an American Eskimo (eskie), Bentley, and a tuxedo cat, Ninja, who gives us a run for our money. (Long story why we got him, since last time we had cats I developed asthma, but I'm pretty much ok with him.) He likes to knock water glasses off of tables and other shenanigans. The eskie has three legs, one was amputated right before we got him, he walks with a limp but he can run faster than the wind with no limp, and can outrun most dogs even. He's also a character, he likes to escape so we had to put up a baby gate so he doesn't get out and terrorize the neighborhood (he chases anything with wheels especially). They both are more work than I really want, but I don't know what we'd do without them either.
Doug is doing okay, he recently started a new biologic med which took about 7-8 months to get approved, so had to go on Prednisone during that time which did a number on him, especially his diabetes. Then we had to change insurance companies rapidly last month (long story again) but the new company approved Doug's med right away, unlike the fight with the last insurance company he was with for over thirty years. In fact, he's getting another dose of Stelara tomorrow. Our GI doc doesn't think he'll ever get his Crohn's totally back in control again, and he's exhausted almost all of the time, but if someone mentions kayak fishing, he'll make it work. 🤣 And he's a lot better than he was a few months ago. As for myself, I'm always exhausted too because of my narcolepsy and heart failure and other health problems, so our house doesn't get the attention it needs and I think we'll end up moving to a place where we don't have to take care of a yard eventually, which would help immensely. The thought of moving wears me out though. The good thing for me is I haven't had a seizure in years now and was even able to go off of meds for it. Yay! (And I also love kayak fishing. But Doug has to do a lot more work for it than I do because of my physical strength.)
Our former foster kiddos are doing well. We don't see our former foster daughter much, but she is thriving with the place she is at, as much as she can with her abilities. Our former foster son is doing well, too. It's his birthday tomorrow and his handicaps make him like a five-year old kid with birthdays and holidays, even though he'll be turning 40 tomorrow. Yikes! We're going to dinner tomorrow with him and some others, which should be nice.
There, I talked all of your ears off. I hope they grow back. 😂

Well that all seems to be OK Sandy.....I know how you feel re: keeping the home up to scratch but really it's got to be way down the list of importance,,we could do with a coat of paint here and there but Les hasn't been well properly for 4yrs and seems to be going through the alphabet of ailments and dementia is NOT a good basis for decorating. The house is clean and comfortable so it will do for me.I've spent my life keeping things up to scratch now it's ME time. And the last thing I need is the decoraters disturbing the peace...As for Bentley chasing wheels....well somebody once complained that one of our dogs chased him on a bike,,,impossible,I said,my dog doesn't have a bike.....

Carol , once the kitchen and toilet are clean , don't really care that much about the rest , we have a big hairy dog who wrecks the house on a daily basis and its even worse at the moment , we have his friend , a 15 month old bernese mountain dog here for a week , anyway should we really care of a little dust and dog hair , nope I say enjoy every day and the house will be fine ,

Ah,I love to see dogs having fun Tony,it really made me smile.I still miss those times with ours,50yrs +. A long time which passed far too quickly.... Thanks for sharing

hey Carol they always make me smile no matter what , we are really lucky with this one , she is the first "female" dog that I have been owned by and she is by far the most loving and calmest of the lot , hope yourself and Les are doing a little better ,
finally got the appointment with a rheumatologist and he told me hips are fine but my L3 has been causing all my pain , nothing to do as its just wear and tear , just have to put up with it , no more mountain climbing for me ,
DEXA scan monday and colonoscopy tuesday , such a lot to look forward to , but at least I don't have any prep ,
WINNING and hope everyone is doing a little better .

Thanks Tony...do you know what, when our Alfie went over Rainbow Bridge to join the reast of the pack and wait for us,we let our heads rule our hearts and decided we couldn't go through any more grief and also our ages and health had to be considered.I know deep down we did the right thing but it was almost 8yrs ago and we've missed so much love and laughter by not sharing with another dog.....life is not as good as it could have been that's for sure,,,,too bloody late now though !!!!

Tony, good for you for helping with the b. mountain dog, they can be a lot of work. Your dog and the other one are beautiful dogs. (I don't know a dog that isn't beautiful though. 😆) And we're similar to you, as long as the toilet and kitchen are clean, we're happy, as long as the rest isn't totally out of control.
Carol, I don't know all the ins and outs of yours and Les's health conditions, but it sounds like you've had some huge challenges. I hope things are settling down for you too. Hugs.
I hope your health is at least stable too Trysha.

But I have a secret weapon Carol ,a wetsuit but to be honest it was still cold enough , and of course my better half just walked straight in in togs ,no bother to her ,
Going to try and keep it up to help with the blood pressure and the worn out back ,
Winning

Well, after a visit to my cardiologist today, I get to go back on water pills again. The good thing is, they think I'll have less pressure on my heart and lungs and feel better again so I guess that's a win. Winning?

Oh go on then Sandy, you can have the win but don't get too comfortable.........you know it won't last

Hello all. You're failing at your usual banter so I'm winning prize after prize. So far, LOW has sent me the deed to a mansion and a fancy new car, and a few other smaller gifts. 🎁 I'm afraid I'll have to sell the mansion because I can't even keep up with my modest house, but I'm keeping the convertible. I've always wanted one. We've also been sent a bunch of beautiful weather. Winning. 🏆

IN YOUR DREAMS SANDY !!!! WINNING QUIETLY AND WITH PANACHE !!!! (whoever Panache might be ););)(y)

I'm glad
Hey Sandy ,nothing much to report here ,had a delay scan a few weeks ago and the bones are getting worse but I have still got

Winning

I'm glad you've still got three three wheels on your wagon. I always say I have three legs because I use a cane, lol. My dog, Bentley, has three legs too, he lost his front left leg in an accident right before we adopted him, but he can run faster than any dog I know. Here's to all three legged, and three wheeled people (and dogs) winning.
Winning!

Hey Carol ,how are things
OK thanks Tony.....almost finished the dratted Prednisolone but have a hamster look hahaha.Les doing OK too.We cancelled his twice weekly support worker as it was making us anxious wondering what to do with him..We like to do our own thing and we can get to appointments etc by walking, bus or taxi (no car now for obv.reasons) if Les has a relapse, which of course will happen eventually, then we'll deal with it when it does...Hope you're all well over there and the weather is being kind to you.....at least you've got your wet suit...I know you're not bothered Tony so this is for Sandy....WINNING !!!

Our beloved Utes (college football team) are playing tomorrow, and we've been having a winning season, so I thought I'd win here too.

OK you dog people, go on ,gang up on me ,I can take it.....but we all know who's had the most wins since 2012 don't we ?
actually, forget that,I'm making myself sound desperate......

Ohhhhh nooooo! We can't have this thread die. It has to many memories for me over a several year span, so I thought I would win here again. It seems that if someone posts after me, I win, but if nobody posts after me, I win. I'm the winner no matter what! Yay!

Yay, you won for a little bit Tony. Doing ok-ish, hope you and yours are too. Because of you, I want to go swimming again, but I'll have to settle for an indoor swimming pool. The lakes and reservoirs around here are near to being frozen over. No amount of neoprene will get me in one of those, lol.

You know you have a problem when you're in the middle of a conversation
and you see a dog and you lose all ability focus because all you want to do is say hello to the dog

I know that feeling, but I have to be careful, esp if it's a woman walking the dog, I tell my missus (wife), It's the dog I'm looking at 😂, honestly 👀👀🐕

Dear Santa....could I please have a fat bank balance and a slim body this year ?
I asked last year but you must have mixed my request up with Tony's as I got a wet suit and flippers and I can't even swim !!!

Hey Carol was thinking the same of you and checked if you were around earlier,
All good here hope yourself and L are doing OK,

We are all good thanks Tony....I didn't want to sound as though I was stalking you........you should be so lucky !!! ,I haven't got the stamina these days hahaha. ...but good to hear from you. I was very worried you were sunning yourself in the Bahamas

no Bahamas , we're minding a friends dog for the last couple of week , he's a tiny little fellow so he's keeping us busy

https://photos.app.goo.gl/yfFtG2z2cHsAxb1p9
as you can see you could fit him in your pocket , we're lucky enough with the weather , today was the first rain in over a week so we were able to get him out to the beach and the boss was able to have a swim when I was minding the dogs

I'd rather mind the dogs than swim....in any weather.BUT I would leave the towels on the door step before the pair of them got a chance to shake inside.....I don't mean your good lady mind....I'm sure she can shake where she wants to.

Grandma once said "sometimes you have to hug people you don't like
just so you know how big to dig the hole in your yard"

I hope Sandy's OK and is just AWOL again
