Are there any women here who've had the LEEP procedure done while on immunosuppressants?

I've been dealing with abnormal cervical cells for a while now and the stage of abnormality has stepped up to LGSIL from ASCUS. My current doc has said that I could watch and wait for a little longer or I could go ahead with the LEEP procedure (shes on the fence because if I were a normal individual with a normal immune system they'd just watch and wait for the body to get rid of it on its own). She also said I'm getting older (22) and I'm almost out of the range of ages where the immune system is robust (good for Crohn's, not so good for cervical cancer).

So... anyone ever had this procedure at all? While on crohn's drugs? How did you respond to the therapy?

Katie - I'm sorry to hear about this :( I don't have any experience with this, but hope you find some answers soon. I had these sorts of worries when I had my scare. Wish Crohn's didn't have to complicate so many other aspects of life!

BAH! I know.

I'm not worried about the procedure at all (which is pretty weird for me) but I'm wondering about recoop and such.

Hey Katie - I had a LEEP done a few years ago - I was on remicade at the time, and didn't have any issues.....thankfully my last pap came back clear!

YAY for an answer!!! Thanks so much Pasobuff! I'm waiting to find a gyno here in Michigan (just relocated) and I'll see about getting it done. My current gyno said I should be fine for 4-6 months.

You are VERY welcome~~~ I just got access to thius part of the forum or I'd have answered sooner! lol....,

The worst part of the LEEP was I felt crampy afterward......a little worse than menstrual cramps for me, but nothing that lasted too long!
