Hello,

I just wondered if this is a common side-effect with Prednisone? I've been on it now for 5 days and since yesterday I have a pulsating on-and-off in the left side of my stomach. It's different to the usual spasm's and popping that I get in my stomach and it's not as uncomfortable, just a really odd feeling.

Thanks. Hope everyone's having a good day so far.

I have never heard of this and a quick google suggests that it is not common. Is it timed with your heartbeat or do you think it's more related to your digestion or something else entirely?

When I take my migraine drugs sometimes I get a "whump whump whump" in my ear that I believe is timed with my pulse. I have read that because blood vessels are narrowing in other places (the drug is designed to make the blood vessels in my brain narrow, but it affects all blood vessels), it actually causes the ones near my ear drums to expand/have higher pressure, making me more likely to hear my pulse. Bizarre!

If you're worried about it I would ring the doc who prescribed it. I hope you get it figured out.

Thanks for your post! Sorry, I've only just seen it! I've actually come off Prednisone now but the pulsating did stop the day after I wrote this.

I often get the "whump whump whump" in my ear too, especially when I lay down. It's a strange sensation isn't it!

Really appreciate you looking it up for me on google! Thank-you Nic :)
