I am really new to this Crohn's thing and to be honest, I just feel like all I do is complain and ask questions. Some day I will be able to provide encouragement and "experience" to someone else in this forum, but I have to tell you that I am just not there.

That being said....my left leg hurts. It started the other day and I started to think maybe I had twisted my ankle and didn't know it. No swelling, just sore to touch the muscle/tendon and it seems to be getting worse. I am in the middle of a bad flare right now. Am starting Remicade on Thursday since other meds like Prednisone and Entocort have not worked and I am now steroid dependant as well as my ileum and rectum are in nasty shape so we want to get that better fast.

Anyone ever have muscle pain that just shows up like you strained that area? I feel like such a whiner with so many complaints and I know my husband is frustrated. I really try to not complain, but geez I feel bad. Physically and in my heart, you know?

Odd as it may be...my left foot also hurt like a week ago. I have NO idea what I did, nothing that could have sprained it though. It was in one spot that made my whole heel hurt. I tried muscle rub , ace bandage, everything I could think of with no relief and it finally seemed to feel better on its own after about a week. Still don't know what it was or what I may have done, if anything...I know this was really no help to you because I don't know the cause neither BUT maybe just knowing it went on with me too might make things better. Give it some time, if it doesn't start feeling better, I'd have it checked out. Crohn's can definitely drive u batty :ybatty: not knowing if it's crohn's related or something else makes it hard. Hope you're feeling better soon. Take Care :)

Hey Jackie... Welcome to the forum. Don't worry, your turn will come. I've had joint pain with this disease, feels like arthritis... But, I also had an allergic reaction to my Imuran/azathioprine... those were cramplike pains in the muscles, like charlie horse pains... soles of the feet, calves, thighs, really intense .. could barely stand or walk.

Anyway, don't know if that applies to you.. not sure if you are on azathioprine. hope you get a handle on whatever it is... keep us posted on how you make out, okay?

Thanks SO much for your responses and YES, it is making me a tad batty! Not on anything right now except the Entocort which I will remain on during my first 6 weeks on Remicade.

I also had another thought which was if I was just "bruised" maybe and can't see it. The reason I say that is because I am now hypersteroidal (sp?), I am bruising all the time for no reason. Doc says it is because I was on Prednisone for so many months and now am on Entocort, which isn't as harsh since it goes straight to the digestive tract, but a steroid nonetheless.

Please check with your Doctor. I know you are on prednisone but I once had Erythema Nodosum - inflammation of the nerve endings in the leg. It was very hard to walk very sore to the touch and prednisone fixed it. I would just make sure. Hope you feel better soon - Remicade is good stuff - no side effects except feeling better :)

before i was diagnosed i had pain in my left leg for a day or two, then got rushed into hospital and they found i had blood clots

I get what feels like arthritis in my feet, some joints and occasional charlie horse pains in my legs. I've been able to attribute the charlie horse stuff to somewhat lowered potassium levels and I try to take OJ with my supper to help get an extra boost. The vitamin C always helps too. This only happens when I'm on prednisone.

Jackie -- don't dismiss this. Sometimes leg pain is a sign of deep vein thrombosis and it's kinda series. On the other hand, my ankle flares up but I had an old injury in that area and it's just tendonitis. You should mention it to the doc. though.
