Hi Everyone,
I posted a while back before I had my seton placed and you all helped me so much. I have had the seton in for almost three months and on the 13th of April I will be going in for the removal of the seton and a second procedure. The CRS advised if the tract has become more superficial ( it was a higher one but did not cut through any muscle) then he was going to do the fistulotomy but if he needed to he would also do the LIFT.
Ok my first surgery scarred me. I was out of work for two weeks with the seton placement and then worked from home for two weeks. The doctor said the reason I was in more pain then was because I had a large abscess and he left it open to heal from the inside out (that took about 4 to 5 weeks). I didn't have to keep it packed like I read on some sights.. just lots of baths and covered it with gauze to help with drainage. I still do the gauze to catch the seton drainage.
He said I shouldn't have as big of a hole this time, can anyone help calm my fears and tell me I will be ok? I am ready to get this trial over with so I can move on to having babies and live my life ( I know you all must feel this way about wanting to just live your life free of a fistula).
Thank you all and God bless.
