Hey all
Well I've had a really bad 2 weeks :(
Ended up in a an e last week by ambulance with a bad flair up , I escaped a day later an they forgot to prescribe my steroids so I left it WHOOPSIE lol

I've ended up at the doctors mon tues an yesterday in agony begging for help but no gp would put their finger in the pie an prescribe what was needed coz the hospital didn't put any notes on the computer !!!

Until yesterday thank god , I saw a good gp who knows my situation and he straight away put me on 40mg pred gave me my painkillers early an wants to see me mon to up the dose if it doesn't help or reduce if it does etc u all know the drill .

Well while I was at the doctors I met a woman my age who actualy had crohns !
We got chatting about treatments etc an pain meds but didn't have long , stupidly we didn't take any contact details or even a name lol
So it got me thinking to look here for some one in my area to chat to about crohns ,treatments and normal things so if that was you yesterday in Cwmbran please get in touch on here !
And anyone else in my area or near or something lol
It would be nice to hear from anyone close who needs a friend with crohns too x
Just so u know I'm in southwales , Cwmbran near Newport not far from Cardiff etc so plz get in touch
Thanks ( sorry for long post AGAIN !)

Hi Jenny,

I've just moved to Cardiff from Manchester (last week actually!) And I'd quite like to be able to speak to someone about Crohnsie stuff too :)

I was diagnosed in June 2010, but before then I had very few previous symptoms. It's a similar story to everyone else's- tried lots of different meds and the whole illness is pretty up and down.

Feel free to send me a message :)

Becky

Hey,

I'm not in Wales, but I do live just across the bridge on the outskirts of Bristol so not too far away :)
I go to a Crohn's support group once a quarter (we meet in a pub, usually in Bristol) and it's been an amazing help for me. I now have I think about six friends with IBD and the advice and support they've given me has kept me going.
If you don't think that it is too far, you're more than welcome to come sometime, the next meet will be in January I think. But in the meantime, if you want to chat or meet up I'd love an excuse to go to Cardiff! :)

I hope you're feeling a bit better now?

Hi,

I love Bristol, it's a great city!

It would be lovely to meet up for a chat. I don't know anyone else with Crohn's so it would be nice to have a bit of a chat/ a moan with someone!

I'm very tempted to come to the meet up in Bristol too. I've had a look, and there doesn't seem to be much going on in Cardiff.

It looks like that could change soon though- with 3 people living in/near Cardiff :p

I'll keep you updated on the next Bristol meet. If either of you are on Facebook we do have a group, although I'll have to add you to it. If you want to add me I'm on http://www.facebook.com/lucinda.dixon.1 (hopefully that works!)

And yes, it'd be good to meet up. I'm having an op at the end of November so won't be available for a little while after that, but could do something before then?
Xx

Hi Jenny,

I live in Cardiff. I'm female and was diagnosed with CD 4 years ago. I have been on a course of steroids and am now on Mezavant. I have been lucky mine hasnt been too bad (YET) but I am having a lot of trouble with my eyes with Uveitis.

There is a support group in Cardiff, I've emailed them today atcually. They meet in the village hotel in Coryton.

It wont let me post the link but its on the NACC website xx

Thanx all , it's nice to know people are close ( ish )lol

We will have to arrange a meet up sometime after Xmas for all of us in a middle location lol
