I have a major question does a low blood count level affect Crohn's Disease?
I went to the hospital and they drew my blood and found out my level was 29.9 and if it goes any lower i have to get blood infusion.
Sorry but i am worried that it might be messing with my Crohn's!!!

Can someone help me please???

Just also wanted to say to Everyone thank you for helping me cope with what i am going through and i will help anyone that wants and needs help.... Thank you again:heart:

Hi,
I'm not sure when blood count effects Crohn's but you can email Mayo Clinic and I think they are fantastic!
Good luck and hang in there!

It is actually the other way around. Crohn's Disease and Crohn's meds affect the blood count. 6mp is an immunosuppressant that works in part by lowering the white blood count. Anemia ( low red blood count) is very, very common in people with Crohn's Disease and it usually can be helped by supplementing with iron. However before you do that, it is very important that you discuss all this with your GI doctor. I am going through something similar, so please know that you are not alone.

A low blood count causes fatigue and overtiredness and it might also make you anxious and irritable. Try to get as much rest as you can until you can get this straightened out with your doctor

I hope you never get a blood infusion. I have heard people with crohns get them so dont think your alone. I boost your folate and iron like KH said. Best of luck!!!
