Everyone says that marshmallows can help to slow the output from your ileostomy. What type of marshmallow are you guys using? Is it the regular one made from sugar and gelatin? Or is it something made from marshmallow plant extracts?

The junk food kind. I think its due to the gelatin. I haven't found it helpful but peanut butter is great.

Marshmallows don't help me at all. They just seem to wake Bob up. Potatoes, bread and pasta work great for me.

I've tried rice krispy treats and even putting an ice cube to the base of the stoma and that helped a little to stop the stoma from going until I had it changed.

I change my bag first thing in the morning. Zero dramas at this time, allowing me to give the skin around it some attention too and dry properly before I place a fresh bag on.
