I was diagnosed with Crohns in 1989 by chance. I have had 3-4 resections and now there is not much left that can be cut out if anything. In October 2012 I was put on Humira all was well at first, then in late January last year everytime I had Humira I felt as though I was Getting a cold then, in the February when I had my last Humira I felt as though I had a bad cold, couldn't get warm aching all over, so went to my doctors and was rushed into hospital with pnuemonia. I was put in a medically induced coma because I was unable to breathe on my own. It is believed that because Humira surpresses the immune system thats what caused it.

I have Osteoporosis
Osteoarthritis
Due to the high dosage of steroids I had to be put on.

And now since I came out of my coma I have peripheral nerve damage to my hands and feet.

Hi Fitzy, and welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry you've been having such a hard time. How is your Crohn's now?
I got peripheral neuropathy myself from Flagyl, it's been over three years now, but it slowly gets better.

Thanks for the warm welcome. My CD isn't too bad a the moment just waiting for results from an MRI scan I had last week they won't discuss it over the phone but will write to me instead.
I am lucky the medical team that I am under are very good. I'm just like everyone else but better than some of the youngsters and teens who have it.

Thanks, like everyone else I have good days and bad days, but, it's the constant mental battle we have to endure 24-7 I think anyone who has not just Crohn's but any debilitating disease are amazingly strong mentally. But most of all they are gifted with a sense of humour which helps them fight on,
