I have recently started a mild course of budesonide steriod 3x3mg a day. I have been having some better days and it has deffiently helped with the bowel issues, but I am still really struggling with the neasua. I am currently in what I call one of my flair ups and finding the sickness unbearable as really suprising my appietite. Has any one else found that budesonide has semi helped but not put the corhns in remission.
Thanks

Medication:eek:mpozole 20mg 2 xday and budesonide 9mg once a day

My son has never used entocort but as some people don't respond to prednisone I would assume the same goes for budesonide. How recently have you started? It takes more time for budesonide to work compared to pred. Have you kept you GI abreast of symptoms continuing and the severity of them? The GI may want to px an anti nausea med such as zofran. He may also want to adjust or change your med if sufficient time has been allowed of expected efficacy.

I used to get put on prednisone all the time but it was never enough to get me back in remission. If you're having difficulties with your medication or you feel it isn't effective enough, tell your GI as soon as possible. You may need a higher dosage, or even need another medication on top of it. Your GI could also recommend an anti-nausea medication.

9mg a day is the max dosage a day from what i understand ;/
Do you have a stricture? If yes, is it inflammation or scar tissue? Important to know the difference since if it is scar tissue no meds are known to take away scar tissue. Ask your Dr. to confirm ;)

Ask about doing a supervised all liquid diet. It has been said to be as effective as steroids minus the side effects.

Nausea meds can be prescribed by your Dr. **but you should know what the source of the nausea is coming from as well.

Hope you feel better soon.

I have been on 9mg of budesidine for well over a year now . I have been up to 12mg, and my doctor said he has gone as high as 15mg a day before even though 9mg is the max dose . Right now I am basically symptom free but I just had a scope and it showed I still have mild inflammation in the illium area. I say area because mine was removed long ago. I perfer this drug over prednisone due to the fact it makes me very hard to deal with. I get very angry at the drop of a hat. My only issue so far of being on this drug for an extended period of time is that I have developed osteopenia , beginning stage of osteoporosis. I now take 1200mg of calcium to hopefully correct or at least not let it get any worse . I don't know if this helps you any but it is my story none the less.
