I am undiagnosed, yet my symptoms point to unidentified Crohns. The three GIs I have seen all agree it is time for me to go to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. I am scheduled to fly there on Tuesday Jan. 31st, see Dr. Loftus on Wednesday Feb. 1st and go from there.
The problem is that I keep experiencing unstoppable "D" that leaves in the bathroom without relief, severe cramps, and nausea. Yesterday afternoon the on-call GI doc had me take 10mg Vicodin, 25mg Phenegran, and Lomotil yesterday...that was after I had taken Robinul and Hyoscamine in the moring. Needless to say it knocked me out for about 19 hours.
Unfortunately, it seems like the Vicodin is the only thing that will stop the D. Yesterday was a lot of bile with burning on exit, so I will up my Welchol dose. I am fearful I will have trouble traveling to Mayo with three different flights to get there.
Does anyone have the name of another med that works to stop your D?
Is it risky for me to be taking pain meds to stop the D if this is Crohns?
