Just wanted to wish everyone a great Memorial Day weekend. Thinking healthy thoughts to all! I hope you are able to enjoy!

I hope you all have a great Memorial Day!

Can someone tell me what Memorial Day is? Is it a day of remembrance?

Dusty. xxx

Yes Dusty. Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces ... and it is the unofficial start of the summer. There are parades, BBQs and many go to the beach here on Long Island.

Thanks Jeanne and my best wishes to all those that have served and continue to serve.

Dusty.

Happy Memorial Day!! I am working Sat and Sun but hope to relax (with a date (!)) for a bit Monday! :) The kids and I went to a parade Friday night...what is everyone else doing??

Well we are having a great weekend.

O went to get mani/pedi with youth leader yesterday and then we all went to a graduation party. Pentecost picnic at church today and O is off sailing...when she gets home impromptu BBQ at good friends house and parade tomorrow (we are bringing O's friends as we have a breakfast picnic at parade).

My BIL is career army so Memorial Day always means a lot to us but now my 18 year old daughter is going to college and considering ROTC...wants to be an occupational therapist working at military hospital helping wounded vets adjust to life back home. So today at church when they lay the wreath she whispered, "mom next year that could be me in my uniform" I am proud of her but scared at the same time. She tells me there is such a low chance she would be called to duty...they need OT's at home not in battle but still a mom worries...18 and she hasn't figured that out yet?

Certainly enough to keep our minds off all the Crohns nonsense! Hope everyone else is enjoying and destressing a bit.

Well, my family and I will be enjoying a memorial day service in a town nears us.
My dad always took us to the service growing up. He wanted us to learn to think of our service men and women with Honor and respect.
I remember Memorial days that were freezing rain, blistering heat, crowded or sparse. I thought I would never subject children to this!
Now I hear myself tell my son and daughter, I don't care how you feel we're going to give thanks to our great service men and women.:ysmile:

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
FYI I still hate the heat!:ysmile:

Hope everyone's enjoying their Memorial Day!!! :us_flag:

(Angie - enjoy your date!!!! )
