Hi all, new to the forum. I've had CD for 33 years and since I have come into the menopause age, I am having nothing but trouble. I was on Prednisone for a month and never felt better! my Gastro didn't want me on it for longer so I am now starting a course of Imuran. It scares me to death to be on this stuff and I don't know if it will really help. Can anyone tell me how worried about this medication I should be, I'm afraid with an already weak immune system, this will push it right into bigger problems than I already have. any advice is appreciated! Kat.

I've been on Imuran. It's really not that bad, I promise! I know the side-effects can sound scary but honestly, it's not too likely you'll experience them. I was even on a combination of Remicade/Imuran and Humira/Imuran and never had issues with my immune system. I actually got sick less often than I did before, and never had any problems!

If you have any other questions, let me know. :)

I'm not on imuran, but even just being on prednisone can weaken your immune system. I find taking vitamin C really helps.
