x

Pretty much takes me couple of hours to feel good after I get up in the morning. I listen to my body. If it tells me not to eat, then I don't. If it tells me I'm hungry, a rarity, then I try to eat just enuff (eat slowly, masticate thoroughly) to get me by.
If my system is sluggish, I go with liquid or soft meals... And if I'm really hungry, I go with a couple of small meals, spread over time. Not one big large meal.. EVER!

whenever i was at my worst with crohn's, it was always the mornings that were most painful and consumed the most time of my day with the bathroom ... ripe bananas were always the easiest thing for me to get down in the morning but ... i hear bananas hurt some people so watch out

Mornings were always bad for me. I wouldnt be able to stand upright because my guts would be so cramped up. Then I quit drinking sodas. Now before bed I drink a big glass of water on an empty stomach. When I wake up I have no cramps I just have to pee like crazy. Give it a try!!

Oh yeah, mornings used to suck... I would have to wake up an hour earlier than usual to be able to use the bathroom (usually went two to three times in that hour) and then all I could handle was water until about 9 o clock am.

I like your approach Jobengals of using prescription meds with other natural anti-inflammatories. I think your multi-angle attack on the disease is a good way to keep it under control. It has worked well for me too, so far.

that's exactly how it used to be for me katie. In fact, I STILL wake up early just in case i'm having problems. Best to be prepared for the day ...

hell yeah man ... i got the idea for all the natural stuff from this site ... probably from you, i can't remember. I just remember reading over some very informative post about the best natural remedies for fixing inflammations and since then i've been doing great. this site = the ****

maybe im weird. I have to eat right when I roll out of bed. I'm usually starving when I wake up

When i was very young, *elementary school* I had a special school time because I as SO sick in the mornings. If I hadn't been so young, I would have thought I was pregnant. I had Severe nausea and vomitting, and some unusually rough BM's...but I was totally fine by around 10 am every day?
No Dr ever found an explaination until now...CROHN's Disease:(

yeah mornings are worst for me
especially during the night when i should be sleeping
1 to 6 o'clock in the morning is when it is the worst i cant sleep so i take my medication and some pain killers followed by a shower, i find showers relax and help the pain in my stomach go away then watch tv till morning time, or manage to fall asleep and then sleep all day. i usually feel better during 1 in the afternoon, but then its too late to go to school. so i do miss alot of school :( dont eat anything if im ill, hope this helped in any way ~dan

that's odd

hmm, interesting. Although I have my bad mornings once in a while, it almost looks like I'm vastly in the minority in that my nights are the worst--meaning I almost get progressivly worse as the day goes on, well sort of. I wake up, I'm starving and have to use the toilet usually about twice, I feel after that though, the best I'll probably feel all day. But right around midnight (my days are about 10AM or noon all the way to about 2 AM or even 4 AM) I start going down hill most times, getting a fatigued feeling, some minor cramping, and a general feeling of sickness....I always figured the night let things heal, my heart rate slow down, the digestion slow down (as the "pipes" are less active)....and then viola!....better when I roll out of bed (after using the pot).

Well, maybe not viola, seeing as how I still have nocturnal bathroom habits, usually going about 3 times per night....

Have to agree... mornings are by far the worst part of the day.... but eating late at night seems to make morning times worse .... at the moment im not eating or drinking much after 8pm .... seems to make mornings a bit easier....

Well, just wondering if we are comparing apples N oranges. Like, my pains/cramps ARE at their worst at nite... but once I get to sleep I can get by. On the other hand, MORNINGS I (pre-LDN) had to allow myself two hours minimum to get up the energy to face the day... and the day didn't offer the luxury of sleeping thru the 'rough' patches. So, maybe it's just perspective. IBD sucks all the time!
