MRI and Results

So I just got back from my first MRI ever. It took a long time and prior to the MRI I had to drink a huge amount of this water-type liquid.

This liquid has irritated my stomach beyond relief and it hurt throughout the entire test.

Halfway through the MRI I was given Buscopan to slow the bowels. However, I did not recieve any of the dye formula, even though I was told that I would get some intravenously during the MRI. I was told that they had gotten all that they needed and that the contrast dye was therefore not needed.

So it will be a couple of weeks before I find out the results and I am just wondering anyone has had any similar experiences? Does it sound like they found something and therefore didn't need the dye? Or do you think that everything looked good and they therefore didn't believe the dye to be necessary. I am just really hoping that they would have found something.

Did anyone have a horribly swollen and bloated stomach after their MRI with intense stomach pains? I have not eaten yet and am having diarrhea. Hoping all of these things will stop soon.

Hey, this is a week after so might not matter, but how are you feeling? That contrast will certainly give you diarrhea.

I think it took about 2 weeks to hear back from my Drs office (in the US) about my MRE. Hopefully you are feeling better now

My stomach has not been working well since. It is swollen and nothing is moving through my system at all. Today it does feel a little better though and I am hoping that it will continue to improve.

I get the results next week. I sure hope they found something.

Ug, I'm sorry. I'm with you, the tests are bad enough, when they don't amount to anything that's so frustrating.

I hope the dr can figure something out, I guess you've let them know you're still swollen?
