I am having an MRI on Sunday of my pelvic area. Here are my current/new symptoms:

1. Severe bladder irritation some days, especially when lying in bed at night. Have to pee frequently and sometimes have a lot of pressure on right and left lower sides. I have been to family Dr. twice and there is no infection present.

2. I have been dealing with a perianal abscess since Sept., but it currently is causing no pain and there is no drainage from the surgical site.

3. I feel the drainage is now coming through vaginally and rectally-not always, but sometimes I see evidence on the liners I wear. It's a beigy yellow colour.

4. I think I may have passed liquid stool once vaginally, and a couple of times it has felt bubbly(gas escaping?) there. Also lately a foul odour.

5. Pain on the end of my tailbone. It feels like the absess type pain, but I can't quite tell from touching it if it is swollen or not, not sure what it should feel like.

So will the pelvic MRI cover all of these areas and show them fistulas or other abscesses if they are present? I'd hate to think I am getting this expensive test and it's not covering all areas of trouble down there lol

I have had 2 pelvic MRIs and both times they have shown my fistulas up, both rectally and vaginally. They will definitely show all of the areas you have concerns with, especially if they inject you with the contrast, this shows up all things within your"flesh". The scan is a brilliant diagnosis tool so definitely worth it. Good luck.

Yes they will show all the areas but may not show the fistula, they can be very tricky to find! Two mri's and a ct missed mine it was only when dye was injected into the wound on the surface, but hopefully it'll pick it up for you they really are annoying little buggers.
