Have an MRI of the small intestine and bone density text (DEXA scan) tomorrow. Just wondering how quickly they get results from the MRI? The DEXA scan too I guess lol thanks!

Probably too late to answer you as you're having them done today :)
But I will anyway. You should get results back within just a few days on the MRI, the DEXA scan might take a little longer. I remember them giving me a printout after the DEXA scan and explaining some things to me but it was a long time ago and I can't quite recall.

Didn't get any handouts today... I'll give my doc about a week then call. Would call end of this week but will be on vacation so I'll wait til after that! Hopefully the MRI shows something that can be treated easily and help me feel better, and the dexa scan is normal!

I hope you get the answers you want, Josh.

Keep us posted!

I think I had my Dexa scan results the same day - not the official report, but the tech said everything looked good - no problems.

I had the CD of my MRI in my hands in about 4 days, the results the same time.....

Got a call today about the results, so only took 3 days! MRI was normal, but dexa scan showed significant osteoporosis, so now I get to go to a bone clinic and do whatever I have to do there lol. Now also just wait for my scope on the 18th. Expecting that to show lots of problems, since I've been flaring for over 2 years now and not responded to so many different meds. So it better show something that will help in my treatment! lol

Sorry to hear about the bone loss Josh. I've heard exercising with free weights helps build bone density but you might want to talk with your Doc about it before jumping into a regime. Best of luck to you!

I noticed u not taking any calcium while u on prednisone, when i was on prednisone i had to take 2500mg of calcium.

I'm sorry to hear this has happened but glad to hear you got your results so quickly. I hope you get some answers soon and get some relief. Keep us updated on what's going on and good luck :)

Yeah, my old doctor didn't seem to think about some things like bone loss, or folic acid with methotrexate. So it's definitely good I switched now! Because I probably wouldn't have learned about my bones for who knows how long if I stayed with him...
