I've had a lot of pain, cramping, and urgency with No actual stools. When there is stool, its soft, and very small, or just a small amount of liquid..but any at all is rare. All I pass is mucus and a lot of gas...and its very painful all the time, and even worse when I'm passing the gas and mucus. This has been going on for 2 months. Before it started, I had diarrhea, cramping and gas for over a month. I have no idea what's going on. I was diagnosed with IBS years ago. But I have tried all the IBS medicines my insurance will cover, and None helped at all. The other IBS meds out there..which my Dr wants to at least TRY.. Are not covered. I am 42 and I've already had 4 colonoscopies since I was 28. They have removed some polyps but everything is "normal" each time. I have no idea what this is. I'm in pain. I eat (small amounts at a time), but I'm almost scared of food now because it causes the pain to be worse and sends me running straight to the bathroom in pain..just to pass gas and mucus. I have dehydration symptoms. My skin, nose, eyes and lips are very dry. I am so fatigued. I am always thirsty..constantly drinking water..and I hate drinking water. I've been eating bananas to try to replenish potassium. I only drink lactose free milk..even though they say I'm not intolerant. I don't feel like food is even a good idea since I only pass mucus and gas..not normal waste. I can feel gas bubbles moving.. And not in a normal way. Its audible, and its more like a painful pounding sensation in a fast, hard beat..like a jack hammer for a few seconds.. instead of the "bubble-like"/gurgling feeling it always has been. Once my little dog was laying against my belly when it happened. My dog felt the thumping and she jumped up from sleep, turned around growling. After a few seconds (I guess after she realized it wasn't one of the other dogs kicking her repeatedly) she started licking my belly, on my shirt. That's just one of the many times I've experienced this event in my gut.
My drs in this small town and surrounding small towns are not able to tell me anything more than the IBS I have known about for a long time..or treat it with Anything that helps, thanks to my Medicare D. I can't afford to drive to better drs further away, like UVA/Roanoke/etc. I don't have other transportation options..I've checked every possible option, in depth.
If anyone has any suggestions to get me to better specialists, afford the better meds my insurance wont cover, how to afford natural treatments, etc... I'm open. I've tried everything I can. I'm out of ideas. Thanks.
