Can a crohn's patient be treated with radation for PROSTATE cancer?

I was diagnosed 7 years ago with Crohn's D. I also have prostate cancer and was just told by a radiologist that I am not a candidate for radiation because of my CD. Has any one else had to deal with this and may have any information that I can access to get a definitive answer? The Dr. told me that there was an extremely high failure rate with this teatment in Crohn's patients. removal of GI tract for example.

Thanks

Uh, well, one of our members who passed away did have Crohn's but also got cancer and she was being treated by radiation. They only waited to treat her because she was pretty sick and they were sure the radiation might kill her. Others on the forum have been treated by radiation as well. So if you're not in a really bad flare that is making you bedridden, then you should be able to have radiation no problem. People with IBD are at a greater risk of getting colon cancer and they don't just let all those people who get it die. I'd get a second opinion because someone sounds like an uninformed quack to me.

I'd suggest you change your thread title so people have a better understanding of what your thread is about like, "Can you be treated with radiation for cancer if you have IBD?" or something along those lines.
