Hi Everyone!
Hope you're all doing ok?

I went to see my gastro today but he wasn't there!! He was in emergency surgery apparantly. I was told that I was to see the Big Burly Scots man, Dr McLindon! I said no way! I'll wait for Dr. Bassi. So I waited and I waited, then I asked how long, the receptionist said it could be 2 hours, so I thought F*** this for a game of cricket!
I ended up seeing a Nurse Consultant called Paul and he was really nice!
He knew his Crohn's and his meds and was sympathetic.
Basically, he explained that the joint pain and foggy, forgetful feeling was a steroid withdrawal, and to remember that I've been wizzing me tits off for months! Tapering down and then going on Entocort straight away and then tapering down off that, has put my adrenal glands into a frenzy!
He wants me to stay at 3mg all this week, then take one every other day next week and the next week, then stop. But keep taking my Pentasa. Paul wants to see me again in 4 weeks to review.
He showed me my blood work from April, all normal and CRP was 19, considering it was 261 back in Jan, I'm chuffed with that! I've had blood work done again and he is going to post the results to me, he said if my CRP is 10, then I'm in remission!
YAY baby YAY!!!!
Fingers crossed!
I'm breaking up soon, and the stress of school will be over, I've had a scary year, very stressful, but I'm positive this is heading for remission and I'm soooooooooooooooooooo happy!!!
Love you all my friends and a big thank you! :ysmile::ysmile:

Yippeeee! Will be having fingers and toes and arms and legs and whatever else crossed for good news!

Cool! Great to see things are going in the right direction. :D

Incidentally, how about that Dr. McLindon...he's the Big Burly Scots man? :p

Sounds like your man Paul is the one to see! Sometimes I think nurses and physician's assistants and the like are better than doctors. They seem to take more time with patients anyway.

Glad things are headed in the right direction. A little time off for the summer is just what you need to secure that remission!!

:thumleft:congratulations Joan :D :congratualtions:
I agree some of the best care may come from someone other than the doctor or specialist.
