I had an endoscopy 2 weeks ago..... went to the doctors yesterday and I got pawned off on his PA..... which considering HIS patient interaction isn't THAT bad I guess..... for those who don't know - a couple months ago he had his OFFICE MANAGER call me with the official lab report diagnosing me with Crohn's! Anyway, she was talking and told me that I had some really bad erosion in my esophogus and stomach but "at least the good news is there was no sign of cancer YET"!!!!!!!!! YET!!! YET!!!! ..... who in hell taught these people to talk to patients! I'm getting really fed up with all of this and after reading so many others problems I don't know if I want to hang around to find out what is YET to happen with ME! :(

:awe:Yet? What kind of a doctor says that? That is so wrong!! For your docs information it is very rare to get cancer with Crohns and my gp has colon cancer and he says it takes years to pop up IF it is going to occur. My Gi says I don't have it and having a colonoscopy once a year or endoscopy (where ever you are affected) and is very very unlikely!

A lot of doctors only take bio, and chemistry, which is now in Canada very rare to get in to med school without some other interests to deal with the public. My daughter wants to be a doctor and is taking psychology, kenisiology and works in the summer at a golf course. She knows how people get falling into the cracks because doctors dont take the time or give a rats a$$. When I had an xray of my knee the gp said Arthritis and moderate. My daughter asked what kind??? Last I remember years ago osteo, she almost blew a gasket!

So to ease your mind, don't worry about Cancer, everyone got that? NO one can predict it but putting thoughts in people's head can create stress, which leads to flares. :hang:

i'd put in a complaint letter, and ask for compensation for anxiety as a result of that person's wording.... you probably won't get anything, but at least she'll get her knuckles rapped.

I would have replied, "Yes, but you are ALREADY stupid!"

good answer, mine would have not have been that nice. First of all the doctor is the one that is suppose to give you results if anything came up on tests at all. Not the nurses or assistants. That is here in NY anyway. Damn I thought our doctors were bad.lol

I would not worry about what she said but I indeed would put in that complaint for sure...

Hiya Billie

Try to put this into perspective, they are the words of a person who is intellectually challenged!
If there was any chance or signs of cancer, the doc would have spoken to you not the PA.
I would defo put something in writing, just so she gets her comeupance, chances are she'll do this again, her boss needs to be aware of it.
You really can't go round putting the willys up someone with assumptions like this, so out of order!
I hate PAs and receptionists, they think they're doctors and they make me wanna puke!

Wow, I thought I had a bad doctor, he told me I was in stage 3 kidney failure, over the phone, without any second testing (there was nothing wrong with my kidneys at all!!). A couple others things were done, that were just plan weird, so, I wrote a complaint letter about what happened to me. Actually received a call from management, then 1 1/2 years l got a letter in the mail that he had been let go, asking me to come back to the practice. So, I would guess I wasn't the only one not happy with the way he treating patients.......Stand up for your rights to be treated with kindness and compassion.

Thank ALL of you for the support... both in the information AND the outrage! ;-) I will see Doogie next Friday (For a sigmoidoscopy... spelled it without looking it up! :ylol: ) and I will definitley tell him about it.... I really can't wait until my year is up and I can get a new Doc! I got upset when she told me that but for some reason I just CAVE when in the presence of medical auhority.... don't ask why.... I just do... spent 20 years in the Air Farce and 10 as a senior NCO and was NOT afraid of anybody... see some of my performance reviews reference the "mouthy attitude"! LOL! But Doctors and medical people just give me the complete "shutdown and quiver willies"! Anyway.... I went home and have been just building the stress up since then.... I don't have any other source to vent to except here and so I do SO appreciate the concern and the information you guys provide..... after reading your responses I can honestly say my stress level has already dropped a LOAD! THANK YOU! :mademyday:
