Hallooo

I'm bound to be asking a billion an one questions so i'll post them all in here instead of making several threads. I've not officially been diagnosed with Crohn's but doc gav me some idea saying that it could be anyway at least it's not my appendix.

What can i do about the pain? It's literally constant, 24/7 and it's been just over a month now (wow it's Feb already) an no, paracetamol/ibuprofen or codydramol ain't working

HOw do you know if you've got internal bleeding?

Does the pain ever go? (it's right abdominal pain)

If the pain is constant, what lifestyle changes have you had to make. I mean, for me i'm literally unable to stand up for long, walking either as if i'm pregnant or got a hunch, not able to do basics like clean my room (cleanliness is a big thing for me) an i'm constantly sitting down an 'resting'. I'm always an active person around the house and outside (it's my replacement for traditional exercise) an i have a incy fear of gaining weight if i'm just sitting constantly.

Hiya Muna again!

Aw, you shouldn't have to be in pain like this, really feel for you!
Sounds like you've got some severe inflammation going on in there. Constant pain, hunched up etc. My Crohn's is lower right quad too, the terminal ileum.
I ended up going to A&E via ambulance, the pain became sooooo unbearable. I had narrowing and was blocked. Think about A&E especially if you start vomiting.
I was put on Prednisolone, it saved my life, it's a life saver, a love hate med, lots of side effects, but bloody worth it! It healed me good n proper!
If your doc does dx Crohn's, he may prescribe a course of Pred for a few months?
In the meantime your GP could prescribe Tramadol or Codeine Phosphate for the pain.
Once you've got a dx the gastro should put you on an appropriate meds regime.
I've never had internal bleeding but I believe it would be dark brown red and noticeable in the toilet bowl. If it's bright pillar box red on the toilet paper it could indicate a fissure or a hemmie.
Hope you get something sorted soon, go and talk to your GP til you get a firm dx.

Hey Astra thanks for your help, reallyyy appreciate it.

But the thing is, my BM are getting there, like i'm starting to go more, there's no blood thank God but there's been (sorry to be graphic) mucus for a while now, even before the pain. I'm eating less portions but more often and trying different foods etc to get my bowels going.

But yeah pain is all the time. I've got GP appt first thing Monday morning but will call them 2moro and see if there's anything earlier. An i'm very reluctant to go a&e after going soo many times, if needed it'll have to be a proper emergency i.e taken by ambulance. I'm not vomiting but feel to vomit all the time an i avoid he coz i don't like vomiting.

An why does it take docs ages to make a diagnosis for a patient (not me but others on here haven't been given diagnosis for a while now)? Can it be years until there's a proper diagnosis?

Hi Muna
I've had this for two years and a multiple tests ,same symptoms but no resolve. I think you need to take steps to help yourself like ,mild exercise , drinking more fluids, start keeping a diary of foods that make it worse. Try to get an appointment with a doc who specialises in this field ( not easy ) above all don't worry. It,s so important to try to stay relaxed . I have pain 24/7 and can't believe that I'm not being treated but I am trying to help myself and this forum is a great help.

Hey PVail- How are you coping with the pain daily? An how can i do exercise whilst in pain?

Muna
Im am on Asacol which helps a bit . Excercise I have found to be very important and definetly helps with digestion. I know it is difficult but i think of it as me doing something positive to help me. Walking , mild stretching, basically anything but siting on the sofa all day ,that will make me really ill if I have eaten
I am going to a pain clinic on the 9th and hope this will help ease the pain some what . There are no easy answers and by patients is wearing thin also but we just have to be patient and calm in the mean time .
