I am currently in a pretty bad flare-up and am having a horrible time with nausea. It seems that every night i wake up with the strongest urge to vomit yet it never happens. I spend an hour or two pacing then it subsides enough for me to sleep or it isjust as bad but exhaustion takes over and i fall asleep anyway. I've had this problem before and my doc gave me some medicine, it helped somewhat, but I would much rather do somethign that doesn't involve a pill. Anyone have suggestions?

Hi Avery, have you actually tried being sick to see if it lessons the nausea? and have you been checked for a blockage as that can cause sickness too?

I've tried to make myself get sick but it never works... I haven't been checked for a blackage, unfortunately i'm not going to the doctor for a few more weeks

Hi Avery
This happens to me everyday, unfortunately I have to take gravol every 4 hrs.
It works for me and if I miss one boy it sure lets me know. I feel like tossing my cookies.
Another pill that I have to take and it works well for me is NEXIUM (the purple pill) thats what they advertise it as. One in the am and one in the pm.
No more nausea for me,well most of the time.
Or you can try water mixed with a tablespoon of baking soda, Had to take that when I was pregnant as less pills as possible.
Hope that helps.

Hi Avery. I suggest you get checked for blockage as soon as possible. This once happened to me and it's not pleasant at all.

Is your belly bloated? Are you able to go to toilet? these all may be signs of blockage, although mine came suddenly and I had to be hospitalized with a nasal tube (it sucks; it is very uncomfotable you cannot sleep, eat....), and also had to stay on liquid diet for a while, and take large doses of predisone (60 mg) .....

Good luck, and hope it's only nausea and nothing more

I have to agree with Mazen, I have had 2 partial blockages in the last 6 months and they are extremely uncomfortable if they are left. I don't want to worry you, but its better to be safe than sorry.
