Hi everyone. I've had crohns disease since I started high school and I've learned to live with it. But over the past few months I've been going to the toilet at least 5-7 times per day. Its really having an effect on my social life and it makes my nervous when i go on long journeys or use public transport, So I want to completely change my diet to see if that will help reduce my frequency.

I'm currently taking humira injections (80mg every 2 weeks) and the doctor told me to drink this stuff called questran(2x per day).

So I'm just looking for some advice on what kind of foods to stay away from and foods that are better for me . any help is appreciated :)

Hiya Callum
and welcome

I use the low residue diet for frequency and urgency, it gives the bowels a rest and reduces diarrhea. Below is a snap shot, there are other web sites on this diet.
Have a scoot round our diet and fitness sub forum too for more advice.

How are you finding Humira? Jury's still out on this, I'm not sure it's helping me much.

Thank you For the help, I'll definitely be trying a low residue diet. One question though, were does alcohol stand on this type of diet ?

Well this is actually my second time using humira ( first time it was like a wonder drug that cured my crohns...until I got an abscess and had to be hospitalised) but now using it for the second time I honestly don't think its helping at all :-(.

Hey. Have you talked to the specialist about immodium? Alcohol can increase out put. Sugary drinks do the same thing. Hope you find a solution.
