Need life insurance company!!

HI IM NEW TO THE SITE. MY HUSBAND HAS HAD CROHNS FOR OVER 12 YRS.
WE DON'T HAVE ANY LIFE INSURANCE. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW OF A COMPANY AROUND LONDON, STRATROY ONT. AREA OR SO THAT OFFERS INSURANCE TO PERSONS WITH CROHNS DISEASE, THAT ISNT A REALLY HIGH PREMIUM??

I can't answer your question but I am curious of the answer. In Canada I have no problems getting life inssurance. Not expensive. Crohn's don't usually kills anybody I guess it's not a big deal. Getting long terms disability now that's another story.

He should be able to get life insurance at standard rates. Statistically, chrohns patients have the same life expectancy as any one else.

Would you mind sharing what companies have insured you then? My husband has been turned down twice, even though his crohn's is mild- he only had one surgery over 10 years ago and has been purely medication controlled since- just pentasa no steroids or other meds. We're in Ontario, and I'm getting frustrated that I read he should be insurable, even at a higher rate, but they flat out refuse to look at him.

Talk to a broker who has been in business for more than a few years. There are different companies that will take different chronic conditions. I sold policies for some of those companies in the US. I'm not familiar with the companies in your area.

Offer to do a "trial application" where he applies, but no money changes hands until after they underwrite it, and make him an offer. They probably will not want to issue a pure "term" life insurance policy - go for something like a universal life policy.

You just have to find the right company that understands Crohns. It's more complex than many conditions.

Are you planning to get one? What term are you going to get? Whole life insurance or term insurance? The two were different.

Most companies will not issue a term policy on someone with a chronic condition like this. If you work, take the group life insurance if it is offered.

I was able to get in through an organization my husband is part of. I was only able to get a 10 yr term and it wasnt for as much as I wanted but at least it is something. Not sure what is going to happen when the term is up.
