Hi ALL, dragged myself to GP today after suffering with low right abdo pain, nausea and crazy bloody diarrhea for last week after changing feeds. Was just after some pain relief but after examining my stomach he's concerned he felt a small mass and doesn't want to change/give me anything without discussing it with my GI & Dietician. So I was sent home with no relief and a worry that something might be seriously wrong. I hate putting my family through this I wish it would all just go away :( Now I play the wait game.

Hi Shooni. So sorry for the pain you are in. Have you found out more and has your pain level improved? I know the waiting game can be the worst.

Hi and sorry for not replying sooner. I ended up in the ER with inflammation/infection in my Terminal Ileum and a hospital stay of 10 days on IV hydrocortisone. At home now on Prednisolone and am glad things have improved but am still none the wiser as why it happened or what caused it. My GI wants to wait and see if the pred settles things and if it flares again, he's debating whether it's worth doing another scope.
For now I rest, rebuild my strength and gain back some weight.

cheers shooni

Wow, 10 days in the hospital. I really feel for you. On a positive note, you are home and recuperating and sounds like feeling better. I see this post in the undiagnosed section, after an infection in your terminal ileum, have you been diagnosed with Crohns?
Wishing you a quick recovery!

Shooni, sorry I'm new to the forum and new to the symptoms I've been having so I went back and read your very first post about your symptoms. Was wondering, have they done a CT enterography (with IV contrast as well as drinking the barium) to see your small intestine? I'm having this test done this Saturday because my colonoscopy and endoscopy came back normal.

Hi Tevs, yes did the CT but I am lucky didn't have to drink the contrast as I have a PEJ and I put it in there (thank goodness for small mercies). CT showed thickening in the Terminal Ileum which was treated with the Hydrocortisone and antibiotics. My diagnosis at the time was 'Unspecific Colitis' but since seeing my GI 2 days ago he is waiting to see if the Prednisolone settles it once and for all or if I flare again once Pred out of my system, Hmmm sounds a bit science experimenty to me and me being the guinea pig! Still waiting a diagnosis on my lower GI issues.
GI has given me 4 weeks to gain some wait and build myself back up but if I can't do this by his next appointment he wants me to consider TPN for nutrition, which is scarey as I have been told I don't want to go there, I need to research it a bit to find out why.

cheers shooni
