Hi, was diagnosed with Crohn's back in March of 2009. Also had a perianal fistula, abscess and a wonderful fissure. Had those repaired in April of 2009. Then I tried quite a few drugs but slowly and steadily kept getting worse. In March of 2011 I had an ileostomy. September of 2011 that was reversed. Pretty much haven't looked back since.

Now that I am feeling better I want to become and advocate for people with IBD and help raise money for research and raise awareness.

My hope is that one day soon a cure will be found for IBD. Looking forward to being a contributing member of this forum.

Regards,
Ryan

It's great to hear that the tum is settled, are you on any meds now at all? If not are you on any type of diet?

I look forward to seeing you around the forum and good luck with the fundraising.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am currently on Pentasa and a monthly B12 shot. The B12 shot never seems to do anything though.

Yeah doctor Oz thinks we will find a cure in his lifetime. He said it on T.V. We can only hope but I really think its a micro organism that immune to high temps of a fever or heat to kill it and our T Cells cant kill it so are immune system keeps attacking our own tissue.

Good luck and hope you spread the awareness because thats when people start to roll up their sleeves and get to work finding a cure.

This microorganism which I think it is only seems to happen in the North. I see no symptoms of crohns cases in the South. Its all very strange good luck.

What??? I wish someone would send my digestive system that memo. There are many cases in the south.

Do you know what your specific level is? When was it last tested?

Not sure what my current levels are. Decided over the weekend I need to get back in to see my Dr. and run a full blood test. My iron may be low as well.

Hey there Ryan and welcome to the community. Thanks for joining :)

I'm really pleased to hear you're doing well after the surgery, that's fantastic.

See you around the community!

Have had a sore throat, aches and pains for two days. When these things hit they hit hard and then the Crohn's gets a little more wiggle room. Feel better today but not 100%. Hope you all are well.

Welcome! I've seen you around the forum and I think you're a great addition. Enjoy your stay!
