I had a colectomy 1 month ago, they take down my colostomy and made new ileostomy on the right side. I had proplems with fistulas, wounds and PG with my colostomy. Anyway, surgery itself went well, didn't have my 3cm long spouty stoma cos my blood flow was compromised so i have quite flush stoma but no leaks so i am fine with it! Stoma started working right after surgery and i was out from hospital abou 6 days.
Anyway. After two weeks i started getting pain that i knew was Pyoderma. Started prednison orally 60mg and topical steroid cream in the wound. I have been jsing those two weeks and pg only getting bigger i am seeing dermatologist and gi next monday. What should i ask or expect? Protopic cream? Is it helpful? I have had two ccolostomys before that and everytime after surgery i flare with pg. Other two times prednison orally has helped quite fast tho. I don't have very fast transit time with my ileostomy so i asume pills get absorped.
I do like ileostomy more than colostomy tho so that's positive.
Just so sick of these painful ulcers. There is picture on my profile. File name ileostomy PG.
