Hi.
After a few months of abdominal pain and odd bowel movements I have been diagnosed with Crohn's, fortunately I think towards the mild end of the spectrum. As I have only just found about it I am only beginning to take real notice of it and am delighted to find this forum. As well as the more "traditional" symptoms I have noticed some other changes and was wondering if these concurred with anyone else's experience.

At times, usually when I am not actively doing something, just sitting around, I notice myself feeling slightly dislocated, as if a slight fuzz has come over me. Usually I can snap out of it but on a couple of occasions it has got worse and I have felt a very unpleasant tingle/rush come over me and my heart starts beating very heavily, but not really faster. When this passes I then shiver for ages. This got me so worried and felt so odd one night I went to A+E as I felt sure something serious was going to happen. I have had wide ranging bloods done and all were clear and this has happened before I began any meds (hydrocortisone and mesalasine) so I have begun thinking it must be as a result of.the Crohn's. Does this sound familiar to anyone? At the moment these episodes are a real worry.
Thanks for listening.

Hello irishrob and welcome to the Crohn's forum.

I have not personally had the symptoms you speak of
but perhaps others here can relate to what you are saying.

Crohn's brings with it a plethora of symptoms
and each person it seems has different ones to cope with.

Make yourself at home...
Best wishes~Nancy

Welcome irishrobmorris,

I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with Crohn's but am glad it is just a mild case.

Like Nancy I have not had that symptom myself, but that does not mean it is not IBD related. I have a twin who also has Crohn's and we literally had the exact opposite symptoms.

Hope you enjoy your time on the forum!

Greetings and welcome :)

Have you discussed these symptoms with your doctor? In many ways, they seem to sound like anxiety/panic attack but I think it's always a good idea to bring such feelings to the attention of your doctor.

I'm sorry you've been diagnosed with Crohns, but we're here for you anytime. I look forward to seeing you around the forum :)

All my best to you!
