Hi all,

I am 24 years old, was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis June 2010 and have had a difficult time with it ever since. In September 2010 I ended up needing to have my gall bladder removed. After that, everything seems to have gotten a lot worse. I have been in the hospital twice since my gall bladder removal and have had a second colonoscopy. The second colonoscopy revealed that my UC had spread and was now pan-colitis. I just began Remicade treatments and am hoping that this will help put me in remission! *Finger crossed!*

:welcome: Steph! UC and CD is hard to detect. I too had my gall bladder out and about 2 years later a 2nd resection. Therefore having your gallbladder out shouldnt trouble you. In my experience I would of also gotten and endoscopy to make sure nothing else is going on. Many people do amazing on Remicade, so hopefully it should work for you. The best thing to keep in mind is all meds react different to all of us, no two are exactly the same and the severity of the disease. Keep us posted on how you do, so glad you found your way here! Fingers and toes crossed for ya!

Welcome, Steph! I am sorry things haven't improved for you. But hopefully Remicade will do the trick - it has done wonders for so many. Good luck!

Hi Steph and welcome!

Did you try any other meds before the Remi? Or did they want you to go on the Remi right away because the colitis has spread?

Hope you find some relief from the Remi! Enjoy poking around the boards - lots of good advice and nice people here!

Hi all!

Thanks for the welcome :) I am excited to have found a forum such as this one with so many supportive people!

Second dose of Remicade Thursday! I can't wait, especially since I saw no improvement from the first one.

Amy- I am on Lialda as well, I've been on it since diagnosis. I have also been on and off Prednisone but have been on that for about three months now with little to no improvement. My doctor was considering trying another med (I don't remember the name) but since the Prednisone was not helping as much as it should he said the other med would likely have similar results.

Pen- I did have an endoscopy along with a colonoscopy in June, everything was fine with the endoscopy. I am very hopeful about the Remi treatments but am also nervous because not much else has worked yet.

Hopeful thinking!

Steph
