Hello all!
I just joined the forum and thought I would share some of my story.
October will be my 10th anniversary of my diagnosis of Crohn's. I used to be more involved in the community and had a support system of other IBD friends. As I have moved and progressed through school, I haven't maintained a support system of people who can understand what is gong on. Lately, I have started to miss that as things have started to become more unclear regarding my health and the plan to fix my naughty colon. Over the years, I have gone through various medicines and have landed on Remicade and 6-MP. I have been on Remicade for about 6 years now and over the summer on a recent colonoscopy, I had a stricture of my ileum. Yesterday, I met with my GI to discuss my options. Right now, I am in limbo until I get the labs back for my Remicade levels and antibodies and a MRI is done. Once those get back, that will decide if I am off of Remicade and on to a new biologic or if the Remicade is still working. Surgery has also been brought up, which isn't as scary as it once was since I have resigned myself to the fact that at some point, I will need surgery.
Anyway, I am just glad to be able to be back in the community that understands me!
