New to the forum but not the disease

Hello all!!

My name is Josh and i was diagnosed with Crohns and UC in January of 2010. I have had my share of Prednisone, Asacol and Apriso (generic name im pretty sure). I have been in remission since well... it just ended this past holidays. Back to the drawing board. And to top everything off my liver counts were super high!! (i can get more in depth with that if anyone cares to know) I now have scheduled appt for a ultra sound of liver and to start looking into new medication: Humira, Remicade and Imuran. I would love to hear what you guys think or even experiences with these 3 medications. Thanks in advance!

Now lets put aside the bad stuff and let me tell you a little about myself quick.

Welcome to the group. I am sorry that you have this disease. Which do you have? Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis? I have been on Remicade and developed an allergy to it. I have been on Imuran for several years. This is a supportive group. Feel free to share in this group.

Welcome! I think with those meds, there is a possiblity you'll have to have your liver values more normal before starting them. I might be wrong but I think those meds metabolize through the liver, so they need the liver to be healthy first, so ask your Dr about that. Good luck!

Welcome Josh ☺ glad you found us but sorry for your need to be here.Yes tzvia is right your liver levels will need to be in the normal range. I was on azathioprine at one point,which sent my lft's skywards. I had to wait for them to settle down b4 i could move on to infliximab(remicade). I have not had either of the other two, but i would say it would be the same deal..

I have never heard of someone with both. Did the doctor tell you that you have Crohn's Colitis?
