Hi.

I'm 53 on Monday.

Diagnosed with Crohn's in Jan 2020 after emergency surgery.

Couple of visits to hospital since but no further surgery (yet)

Started on oral Azathioprine then 18 months later Adalimumab injection every 2 weeks after fairly persistent grumbling symptoms.

The consultant that sold it the injectionnto me swore it be life changing. It has been alot alot better but not a fix, and I know there isn't a easy fix for this.

Anyway, I try mot to linger on it, but it is very wearing.
Persistent exhaustion, fatigue and impact on quality of life most noticeable but you work around it don't you. Having to work full time with 3 kids and 2 grandkids and poorly elderly in-laws leaves you little choice.

Anyway, wanted to say hello. I've been really poor at accessing support but always been aware of how valuable being able to share this stuff is, as it can be pretty miserable, but always someone worse off.

Nice to meet you all.

Cheers,
Ally.

How long have you been on humira ?
You should not be exhausted all the time from crohns .
My kiddo was dx at 7
Started biologics at 8 and now is 21 .
You may be tired from “life “ I know I am
But not exhausted from crohns
Maybe a higher frequency if you have been on the drug for a while .
It can be given every 10 days , every 7 days and every 5 days .
My adult child eventually had to switch to Stelara after 5 years of humira .

Good luck
