Hello all Im New to the Forum. I was diagnosed with Crohns at 17 and now at 26 I am really struggling with diet and weight. I lost a lot a weight which led to my diagnosis but once on meds routinely I have gained lots of weight back and im looking for a healthy way loose it. I weigh 265 and would like to get back to 200. My problem I dont know what to eat. I like food with flavors and giving up fried foods and hot sauce has about been confused. I know the foods that will aggravate my stomach and it seemed like after eliminating those foods there is nothing good to eat. I hope im not the only one who feels this way and I could really use some advice. Thanks

Stephanie

Hey Stephanie,

Welcome to the forum!

Have you been tracking your caloric intake? If not, it should be the first thing you do so you can see how much you're eating and decide which foods you need to eliminate. I use https://cronometer.com/ (no relation to Crohn's disease, despite the similarity in the name).

Do you have access to a dietitian? It might be really helpful to discuss meal plans with one, and see if they can tailor it around the foods that cause you problems.

Once you nail down some tummy-friendly foods, you can start looking up recipes to fit your taste.

If you're able to exercise, that would certainly be a benefit too.

Good luck :)
