Hi my name is Renee and I have CD.
Found out I had CD in 2000. Before that time I had never heard of the diease. For some time I had bouts of pain and the big D. My Dr. said it was a bug going around. In July of 2000 I hosted a family reunion, plans for 42 people at my house, most of which I had never met (thats a whole different story). Two days before the reunion my father died, and since he didn't want any services, nothing to do but grieve by myself. Reunion went well and after everyone left, I relaxed for a day before I had to return to work. I lazed around , drank iced tea and ate peanuts, while reading a book. That night I was in pain, cold sweats, vomiting. The pain would not stop, and at 2 am I had my husband call the ambulance. I surgon was called in and I was admitted. After 2 days of tests I was told I had CD, never even heard of it before.
I have my days, but the 16 Pentasa's I take each day seem to do the trick. Right now the psoriasis I have bothers me more than the CD. After a flare of joint pain, and fever, I found out in Feb. that I have psoriatic arthritis. I just wonder how many auto-imune dieases is one person allowed.
I try not to let anything keep me down. I work full time as a property manager, and real estate agent. In my spare time I like to make jewelry, sew and do other crafts. My latest new toy is a scooter, just got my learners permit yesterday (had to attend a class all day Saturday) and now to learn how to ride without any crashes. Since the scooter can do 60 mph, it is like a motorcycle, just no shifting.
This site is great, keep up the good work!
