Hey.. hi.. im a 27 yr old female thats been struggling the last two years with stomach cramps that have sent me to hospital numerous times needing large amounts of iv morphine to control the pain.. in the last three months i have been admitted with cramos and rectal bleeding, ive finally been assigned a doctor thats sat down and listend through my sobs about my pain and feeling unwell.. he says he feels certain i have crohns disease as my symptoms are all very like it.. he has bookd me in for a colonscopy and.. i dont know what its called but he said they will send a tube with a camera down ny throat.. for now ive been given containers to poop in and send to the lab plus bloodtests..

the last 3 days have been some of the worst which has me researching and ive found here.. theres so much to read.. its 4 am and i cnt sleep due to cramps and sulfur burps with big belts of nausea but for some reason i just cant throw up.. im sure if i could get these burps to go away i could sleep.. the cramps ive learnt to deal with.. the burps.. hence my name farty mouth i dobt know how to deal with =[

is weightloss a symptom tht happens in all crohns cases? if there are autoimmune dieases in the family history does tht make one more at risk?

im feeling pretty down and confused and have already cried on my husband ranting i shud drink a cup of bleach and maybe then i wobt smell like this.. or taste like this....

so yea hi im sorry my first post is not a more positive one =[

Hiya and welcome

Sorry you're feeling so ill, hopefully we can help.
I think the procedure is an endoscopy.
Baking soda can help with the eggy burps or Alka Seltzer.
Weightloss can occur with an IBD, so can a history of it within families, so hopefully you will get a firm diagnosis and some appropriate meds.
Please don't drink some bleach!
Lotsa luv

Hi there and welcome to the community!

I'm so sorry you're suffering so much but thank goodness you finally were connected with a doctor who really listened. A colonoscopy and endoscopy are a great next step.

If you haven't had any weight loss, that doesn't mean you don't have Crohn's. Many here don't lose weight and some even gain. Crohn's is a little different for everyone. But hopefully you have something a little more acute and easily treatable.

Please keep us updated as to how you're doing!

Don't worry, you'll have your good days and bad. I think every case is different and I've been living with it for 4 years. My tip is just watch what you eat .....I actually think diet is the best medicine in most cases....my experience has been a flare up every 4 months literally when seasons change. Cutting out fried foods was a game changer for me.

Stay positive and know that tomorrow will likely be a better day. Other tip, try to reduce your stress. Ciao.

thanks for the replies :) feeling a lil better today.. finally threwup what was causing the burps.. 2 day old food.. pretty disgusting.. while tht dealt with the feeling sick im still hurting so pain meds in now i have a fuzzy head and lighter cramps.. yea i kno my diet affects this ten fold.. im jst a sucker for mcdonalds fries hah.. i guess im my own worst enemy at times.. wen i have those tests will it give me a diagnoses? im tired theres more i wanna babble about but cant think.. thank you for the support.. it helps talking to people who understand.. ive been told to stop doing the baking soda and water thing coz it cud damage my kidneys.. wat is the other suggestion? im not sure if we have it here.. never heard of it.. is it sum kinda drink?

Make sure you get your vitamin levels tested and ask your doctor to treat any depression you may have it is a common side effect of Crohns especially as you deal with the disease over the years. We don't want you to drink bleach!

umm.. im taking venafalaxine at max dose.. 300mg a dayi was increased to thisdose 2 months ago after a really bad spell but have been on low doses for last 5 yrs.. wat wud the vitiman level tests show? naw i wont drink bleach.. that was an angry rant coz i feel so unclean an gross on the inside..

I recommend looking through the supplements sections as it will give you some good information

Anytime you bleed with a bowel movement it means something is not right with your system. If you do have Crohns or UC you may not be able to absorb some vitamins like other people. These vitamins levels will need to be checked as you will need to take supplements so you get enough vitamins. It may seem like a trivial thing as normal society doesn't necessarily have to worry about being vitamin deficient with an IBD it is very important as it can cause some major issues if let unchecked.

Funny you mention McDonald's........the summer I was diagnosed was the same time that I started eating that food more often after not touching for years...I'd argue that those types of foods may have triggered the symptoms.

No more fried food equals a healthier digestive system.....also, avoid raw veggies and foods with peels or seeds.

aw man it really does feel like theres not alot i could eat?? ah a learning process i guess.. yea wen i had that bleed it was after burger king which put me off.. i dont think i want mcd's for awhile.. thats interesting about the vitamins ill talk to my doc about that.. unless.. hes sent for bloods asking to see cealiac something? thnks for replies folks really does mean alot =]
