i am 19 years old and being diagnosed with cronhns last month. i've been suffering with pain 5 months before that.. my whole life has changed. i take 26 pills a day plus humira injections every 15 days. i lose weight and stay in bed most of the time. my friends hardly visit me they are having a great time drinking, going vacations without me. i feel so lonely and depressed.why this happened to me? before that everything was great in my life i had a part time job and did great at university and had nice time with my friends.i haven't slept well for a month, every night i wake up from the pain.will i have a normal life again?

I'm sorry this disease has wrecked havoc on your life. I can totally relate as I have no social life and my idea of getting out is going to the doctor or pharmacy, pretty lame!

26 meds is a lot! What are you taking if you don't mind my asking? Are they helping you begin to feel better?

As for how long this will last you nobody can answer that. It's so individual and some people suffer horrendously but go into remission for 20 years as if they never even had a disease. Hopefully you will be one of those who finds the right meds and lifestyle to help bring about remission.

Medrol, flagyl, azathioprine, mezavant, doralin, penrazol, bion 3 and salopyrine. There are days that i can go out for an hour or two and others that i stay in bed due to pain. what hurts me most is that i have pain in my back and legs and can not move well. i am 19 and feel like 80 years old. my doctor gave me all these pills plus humira because he doesn't want me to have surgery and there is a big chance for the pain in my bones to go away sooner. i just hope things will get better
