Hey Guys, I've been rather absent from the forum for the last few weeks. Been with the family for the holidays and such and just haven't got around to posting but I wanted to update everyone on my very recent changes.
I am a New Years Resolution fan so this year I decided to alter my diet once again and stick to it for 2013.
I am no longer Vegan. I did the vegan thing for all of 2012 and I am very proud of that but I think it is time for me to move on an include different nutrients.
My new Diet is: Wild caught fish (I went to Alaska this past summer on a fishing trip and caught a ton of Salmon in their natural environment) .
Truly Organic Eggs: I will be visiting farms to find the best place to get my eggs when I get back to Los angeles.
NO GRAINS: I have been wanting to cut out grains for awhile but I felt like it would be dangerous to be vegan and cut out grains since grains contain a lot of the amino acids that meats contain. I have cut out all grains including rice and I must say, I have cut out, meat for a year and dairy but grains have been extremely hard to cut out. I am determined to keep a grain free diet for 2013 though. No grains includes no wheat, bread, pasta, rice, quinoa, tortillas etc etc.
Also because I am not vegan I will now be including honey when I want, although I've never been a huge honey fan.
So I am transitioning to more of a Paleo Diet Although I do still include legumes.
Here is a few pictures of some salmon I cooked up lastnight
So really my goal is to eat the same amount of vegetables that I did through 2012 but to just include fish and eggs. I think with my grain elimination there will be enough room for that. My longterm goal is to slowly start reaching more and more paleo and eventually start eating truly organic chicken and beef.
Anyways, I hope everyone is having an awesome 2013
