I don't have Crohn's but my husband does. I found this site by googling "night sweats and crohn's". I started reading some of the stories and they sound just like my husband. I did not realize that the 2 seem to go together. Anyways, we found out I was pregnant with our 1st child and my husband had crohn's at the same time. At first he was dignosed with diverticulituse or however you spell it, by some backwoods doctor(his mother took him to the doctor while I was at the ob/gyn). After a few weeks of pills, pills, and more pills, and him feeling better and then hitting rock bottom, I finally took him to the other (better) hospital where they called in the doctor that he now has. After lots of pain meds and lots of test, we found out he had crohn's and they had to remove 1 foot of his small intestines. Since then he has had appendex, gall bladder and I think something else removed and another foot of his small intestines removed. His last flare up was in Feb of 2005. He is on Remicade every other month and that really seems to help him out. For the longest he was also on Methotrexate, but after his last surgery, the doctor took him off of it so we could try to have another baby. We got pregnant, but the irony of it all was that it was a tubel, and the hospital has to give me Methotrexate to keep it from growing and harming me.

I am 29, my husband just turned 30. We have a 9 year old son and a 21 month old little girl.

The good news to all this is... He has been good since 2005, we have 2 beautiful children, and God seems to be treating us really well. I know I am not the person here with Crohn's but I have been dealing with it since 1999, so if anyone has any questions that I may can help with, please ask.

Welcome :) There are a few partners and parents on here looking for support. It is good to see your hubby has someone supportive with him!

:welcome: We are glad you found this site. Your hubby is very lucky to have someone watching out for him.

Hi WOA, good to have you here!
I'm glad that your hubs is doing well on Remi. I have been on it for 1 year and am feeling fabulous. Any other questions - fire away, or use the search option here, there is a ton of great info for him.
I have a boy and a girl too, I've heard that called the million dollar family. (Sometimes when they fight over Legos, I wonder though, lol.)
Welcome to the forum!

Good for you. It was my wife that got fed up with my former doctor ignoring my symptoms and started working the phones until she found someone. I got my dx in a matter of weeks after that. I pity the medical folk that dare cross a crohn's spouse (or at least my wife).

:bigwave: Hi WOA. Glad you found us. My wife is also the one that put her foot down and decided enough was enough. After being told that I had a nervous stomach for about 6 yrs she started the ball rolling with a new GP who set us up with a GI.
Glad your hubby is doing great. Kids are great. Grandkids are the best. 9 of them and 1 on the way.
