Anyone else find that they have nightmares or that alcohol/mdma helps. Helps to the point of being able to live a normal life. I'm new, I don't know if these topics are illegal.

Ok, am I right in thinking that mdma is ecstasy??? Thats what they call it over here anyway - illegal drugs. I am personally not into taking illegal drugs, especially strong illegal drugs that will probably do more harm than good. I do however drink, but not to excess. I go out occasionally and have a good blow out lol This always prevents me from sleeping properly, I have interrupted sleep with very strange dreams. When I have a drink, afterwards I like to go a week or so without having any alcohol whatsoever to allow my body to recuperate. I do take prescribed meds by the way, I take Pentasa, Imuran and Mebeverine. So the answer to your question would be no, alcohol doesn't help, it makes the situation worse for me. Why do you ask anyway? Tell us a little more about yourself.

alcohol causes sleep problems because it prevents you from going into REM sleep. also, it is very bad to drink while taking crohn's meds especially imuran, prednisone, 6mp, methotrexate, humira, and remicade. all these medicines have a huge impact on the liver and alcohol puts alot of extra strain on your liver.

i dont take meds and i drink a little sometimes and find it helps *some* with that said, i think it has more to do with drinking alot of fluid and the fluid pushing whatever is in the digestive tract past the inflammed section. alcohol itself i have read actually causes intestinal inflammation. also, alcohol blocks your body from producing antidiruretic hormone which is why you pee constantly and get dehydrated and a hangover. this is never good for inflammation either as alot of water is needed to heal.

I know this sound irresponsible, but I'll take that risk. I have given up so much and changed so much in my life that a little drink every so often is 1 of my only pleasures left and besides its a great stress reliever. . . . .sorry lol

For me, Prednisone works, and I took it for a while, till I developed a large cyst beneath my SCM that refused to be simply drained. It was about 2 1/2 years before I recovered from the surgery required to remove it, so I decided Prednisone wasn't the right answer.

With a diet of simple sugars, high protein, and 0 wheat I can lower the amount of pain, but not to the point of living a life free of the fear of supermarket line diahrea attacks. I got to the point where I had to control WHEN I ate to get a general estimate of when I would be in trouble, so I could be at a safe place.

Eventually I noticed that after a good party, I would be normal the next day. 0 pain.
0 shits.
Normal.
I even felt normal on the inside, but the effect would deteriorate within a day or two. Eventually, I figured out that this was dependent on how much I adhered to the painfully strict diet I mentioned earlier.

check wikipedia for the definition of MDMA.
I can be sick to the point of crying on the floor, but as soon as I hit the first roll I can do jumping jacks. For me this lasts exactly no longer than the duration of the pill dosage.

I've never been on meds while using "alchy-therapy", not even headache medicines the following morning. I think sleep may be one of the problems. I've been woken up in the middle of a dream a few times. I have nightmares, bad ones. Girlfriend and others report me twitching violently when I fall asleep sober.

I've also noticed that when I'm not in remission, I never pee. Ever. Peeing after a few shots is preferable and normal, imo.

If you're not interested in going all out in Alchy-therapy, I would reccomend it for those times when you're in a lot of pain. I've frequently had times when it feels like a sphincter has contracted, seperating the inflamedashell ileum from the rectum with some small bits of stuff bouncing around in the ileum like rocks in a tumbler. One or two shots and that sphincter retracts and I'm happy.
