Have been suffering from nausea, severe acid reflux, low stomach pain for 4 months. Problems with drinking coffee, ice tea, any alcohol beverages. Never bothered me before. Gastro did colonoscopy and found a few small ulcers, inflammation, a little bleeding in the ileum. Thought the beginning of Crohns.

Gave me pentasa and entercort. pentasa made me feel extremely nauseous so stopped. after 10days. Entercort, i could not sleep, racing heart, rash had to stop. Doc trying to get pill cam done to see if further problems in small intestine. Waiting for ins approval.

Does this sound like symptoms of crohns, no diarhhea, history of constipation and acid reflux. Family history of acid reflux and Gram had bowel obstructions. Taking way too long for diagnosis, had to cancel summer vacation due to feeling so awful, any advice?.

:bigwave: Hi Crow, welcome to the forum! Having Crohns isnt not what no one wants but a true diagnosis is better knowing so you can deal with it. Unfortunately all the test available can take months if not years to get a full diagnosis. Depends on where and how active it is. Not everyone gets the same symptoms but Diahreah or constipation is common. Some people bleed, others dont. Some have pain ...you get the picture. I have ulcers , 5 of them since my last scope. I also have a Hiatus hernia, thanks to some of the meds, mostly Prednisone.

Entocort and Pentasa are two of the most common of the milder drugs, if you are having side effects from those, you may not have a smoother ride than some. Best to always get your blood work done.

Bowel obstructions are the most painful and would be a major characteristic of Crohns. If you are not careful you could end up in the hospital for more visits than you want. Avoiding certain foods and raw foods. If you are concerned of your nutrition, try the Ensures, or Boost.

It took me a full year for my diagnosis, hope you get some relief soon and a diagnosis. What country are you from? Welcome aboard, ask any questions, a great bunch here to help you.

:goodluck:

Hi Crow, I wouldn't dare try to add anything but just want to concur with Jett and welcome you to the forum. There are several horror stories on here about years of frustration trying to get some kind of a diagnosis. I wish you luck on a speedy dx. Hopefully, it'll be good news!!

Hi Crow and :welcome:

Jett has is spot on with the advice she has given you. :thumleft:
The symptoms of Crohn's vary with each individual, so yes there is the possibility it could be Crohn's. Getting a diagnosis can also be tricky and 4 months for many people is not long. Of course that is no comfort but just know you are not alone in this so that you don't think you are crazy with it, if it know what I mean.

I'm glad you found us and welcome aboard!

Take care,
Dusty

Just wanna say a big hello
and welcome
nothing more to add, Jett has said it all!
good luck!

Hi Crow
welcome to the forum
It took me 2 1/2 years to get a diagnosis and I am still waiting for a treatment plan. I had pain long before this but only pushed for a definite diagnosis 2 1/2 years ago. Im not telling you this to make you feel frustrated just to let you know sometimes it does take a very long time. The pill cam may be the second of many tests.
The nausea and difficulty drinking coffee, iced tea and alcohol is also characteristic of severe reflux (GERD). I dont know enough about Crohn's to say anything re: your description. I hope you get answers soon so that you can get some relief. Hope you are able to postpone your vacation until a day you are feeling better. There are a lot of friendly people on here :D
