Odd/Uncomfortable Question

I am currently taking pred and have noticed that I have a complete lack of sex drive. Obviously I am flaring right now but in the past this hasn't been an issue, this is also the highest dose I've ever been on. Is this a normal side effect from this drug or is it just from the flaring? Also, has anybody else experienced this??? Thanks for your answers, it was kind of difficult to even ask this question but it is seriously bothering me.:depressed:

Hey gasman99, it happens to the best of us. I go through phases, but for the most part I don't have too many problems in that regard. I know my worst times are when I am flaring, but I haven't noticed anything in regards to pred use. Maybe someone else has thoughts on this. I know there have been some topics on this in the past, but I don't remember where they are - might be good to search for them.

Hopefully you feel on the up and up soon.

You are on a high dose of pred so I would say that it is likely the culprit. That stuff messes up everything.

Hi Gasman

I didn't have any problems on 40mg of Pred, but I did once it got to about 10mg, now I'm off it, I'm back to normal.
There are discussions on this in The Zone, but you have to have 50 posts or more to gain access.
I personally think it's cos you're flaring and feeling like crap anyway, not the Pred.

When I am flaring mine is non-existent. Last thing on my mind. On 10mg a day now of Pred and seem to be getting back to normal libido.

Pred can mess with your emotions and many people become depressed form it and depression can often affect your sex drive. So it could be that but it could also be your flaring cause just like Crohnshobo, its the last thing on my mind during that time.

hell i'm not even really flaring but i still have it least on my mind. its fun to think about but when it gets down to getting down, i just don't feel like it.

Gasman, I'm sure its the flare itself. When I flare its not the first thing on my mind. When I had to take the pred for a differant problem (poison ivy- not anywhere near the plumbing) I had no problem what-so-ever.
