Oesophageal Spasm

has anyone ever suffered from this, or heard of it? its not the same as oesophagitis, which is an inflamed condition.. this is purely a painful spasm low down in the chest, & the symptoms can mimic angina.

hi jed - i couldnt find anything either. no, its my mum who's suffering with this, as well as IBS. it stops her enjoying walks (has been checked for heart/angina - all ok) as it comes on with continued walking. gp gave her antispasmodic but it doesnt help any more.

ii have to go to work today (boring, its satirday!), so that'll give me plenty of time to go googling this to see if i can find anything

its definitely a known condition - her specialist seemed to recognise exactly what it was before any tests were run... but she only gets to see him once a year.

poor you having to work on a saturday - mind you i do too. thats my washing/ironing day lol
