Oh, the smell!

I know that poop smells bad, and the smell can vary depending on what you've eaten, but lately my poop smells particularly disgusting. Is there any reason for this? I'm having a lot of diarrhea and going about 10-15 times per day. My son wants me to have my own bathroom so he doesn't have to smell it any more. I'd love my own bathroom, but alas our home only has the one.

Anyway, is there something that could be causing the toxic smell? And is there something I can do about it?

Not sure about the smell...where is your Crohn's located?

As to the bathroom woes, have you heard of...just a drop...loads of folk here swear by it. Might be worth a try???

Just A Drop is really good, I have a bottle, but sometimes not enough when the smell is particularly bad. Do you have candles in your bathroom? I find burning a candle helps.

Hello, it could be due to food being not digested, fast transit time. Carbohydrates, sugars can be very foul when this is going on.

Generally when I'm going into a flare, my poo stinks ALOT worse. You might want to have bloods done and check on that. Although as we all know, sometimes bloods dont show up everything on everyone.

But if you are starting to flare, it would be good to catch it early.

I'm the same it's stinks when I'm going into a flare. For the last week my pee has a really pungent smell , never noticed before. I haven,t changed diet or Meds , I will probably ride it out for a while to see if it goes away. lots of gurgling sound coming from my tummy which is also unusual . any ideas ?

I've been flaring forever, it seems. My Crohn's is all over what used to be the terminal illium (removed years ago),my large intestine, rectum and I have some ulcers in my small intestines, too. And while my poo normally smells worse than average, it has been particularly pungent this week. I wonder if it is due to tapering predisone.

I'll look into Just a Drop. I don't do candles in the bathroom since the cat accidentally brushed his tail through the flame. Thankfully I was right there, and except for some burnt fur nothing bad happened.

I found out about Just A Drop through this forum and have never regretted it! Buy 2 bottles and have one in your bathroom and one in your bag

PVail I get gurgling guts all the time in flares.. It glugs like a wine bottle as it goes through my intestines. If only it was actually wine. Sometimes the noises go on for ages.. sometimes I wonder what it is until I realise it's coming from me!
