I have been having some continuing issues even though some parts of my Crohn's have been a lot better. I've been on 200mg of Azathioprine for about a year and a half. I haven't had any adverse reactions and my bowels got a lot better. My stools are almost always formed and I go once or twice a day. However, I've still had really bad fatigue and have just felt "off".
A couple months ago I thought I had an abscess on my right buttock. I was actually diagnosed with an inflammatory skin condition called hidradenitis suppurativa. Humira can be used to treat this condition as well. Because the HS caused some issues on my buttock and thighs, my docs and I decided to add Humira to the mix to help the HS and Crohn's.
I've consistently had a low grade fever around 99.5-101 for at least 6 months, my WBC hovers between 11-13 and my CRP has gotten higher. They aren't off the charts, but I am concerned that they are elevated when I am on an immunosuppressant. I have always been told a side effect would be lower blood levels.
I've only been on Humira for about a month. I did the two loading doses and I start my maintenance of 1 pen per week today. (The normal maintanence dose for HS is once a week so we are going with that.)
I was feeling crappy this morning and my temp was 100.4. Do I just need to wait a little longer for the Humira to kick in? Is there anything else I should ask my doc about? I've had an ANA panel (negative), been screened for every STD multiple times (all negative), even screened for mono and other things when I had some other issues going on, but all my other tests are normal.
I am just having a little bit of anxiety that something else is going on. My blood tests have all been normal (except for WBC, CRP) and I've had good looking scopes and imaging in the last year.
Thanks.
