one step closer to diagnosis

Hello :) I haven't been on here in a while... have not been officially diagnosed yet, honestly I've been afraid to go to the doctor....
anyway, I finally went to my gen practice doc to talk to him about the secret symptoms that have been getting so much worse over the past 6 months and the mystery pain (lower right side) that has been going on for 4 years! I did not mention at all that I suspected IBD or anything, but I did ask for a referral. well, HE mentioned crohn's disease, which surprised me because I really thought he just thought I was a hypochondriac and he would fight me on the referral, I guess what did it is that I talked to him about some things I have never mentioned to him before...
so I've been doing some more reading since he brought up the possibility of IBD and I've started wondering if every diagnosis I've had over the past 4 years has been wrong! I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about a year ago, but now I read that crohn's can cause joint pain and some other symptoms consistant with fibro that I have, how crazy is that?? ALSO, I was diagnosed with endometriosis like 2 years ago.... during a laproscopy they did not find any actual endometriosis spots, but diagnosed based on my symptoms and findings of an allen master's window.... so... do i have endometriosis or were my insanely horrible menstraul cramps really just a crohn's flare up during that time of the month... I now have an IUD for it, so no longer even have a period, but before the IUD, every time I was on my period I would have D, did the D contribute to the pain of crohn's or did the crohn's flare up cause the D??? Sooooo many questions that will probably NEVER be fully answered even with the right diagnosis. I put off going to the doctor for a while cuz I thought I was doing better for a month or so, but now this past week has been awful, so I working with my GI referral, getting an MRI to make sure the pain in my side is not from a pinched nerve off the sciatic nerve or something like that, and hopefully will find out something soon.... God, I just want to feel better and maybe know what to expect from day to day just a little bit even...
so this turned out way longer than I planned lol sorry, I never get to talk about what is really going on and how I am really feeling........ever. I just need to know what is really going on.
I saw this episode of House where Dr. House said one thing that struck me as probably true in a crazy sort of way. he said "you pick your specialist, you pick your diagnosis". I went to a pain specialist-diagnosis, fibromyalgia, I went to a GYN-diagnosis, endometriosis, general practice doctor (AKA: I-only-do-colds doctor)-diagnosis, depression (yeah that pissed me off). so maybe i've just been seeing the wrong doctors!!
well thx for listening to my long rant if you read the whole thing LOL.

Doesn't surprise me. Crohn's is probably one of the trickiest diagnosis to definitiely nail down.

Getting it all sorted out is half the battle. It's not any easier knowing of course, but at least you can devise a plan of attack in coping with it. Living in limbo takes its toll.

Wishing you all the best and hope you can start feeling better.

There was another post on here about symptoms during the menstrual cycle. Nearly every woman who responded (myself included, though my diagnosis is not pinned down yet either) cited terrible cramps and diarrhea, etc. It seems like it's a common symptom for people with Crohn's or IBS.

Good luck on getting your diagnosis. And you should never be ashamed of the things that make your life miserable! The first step to fixing them is to tell a doctor you have them. I hope you get some answers soon, not knowing is incredibly frustrating.
