2 admissions and 15 days in the hospital and we came home and only got 3 good days. He's Feeling sick again and I don't know what we're doing wrong. His stools are increasing again and blood has returned too.

We don't even have a for sure diagnosis. It's crohns or ulcerative colitis is all they say. Biopsies from colonoscopy say crohns but symptoms say UC. I'm so confused and just want him better. It seems like one time we talk and they are saying its one thing then another time it's another.

oh gosh, I'm sorry he is feeling crappy again. It's just not fair.

I really hope they figure something out for him. I would think that if the biopsies confirmed Crohn's, then it is Crohn's? Symptoms can be deceiving.

I am so sorry!!! Since the treatment options are so similar, I cant understand why they arent doing something? I have crohns colitis. Similar to UC but not UC...is that their issue then??

I just hope things improve for him!

He's on remicade (3 treatments) , mesa? Enemas, 60 mg steroid, nexium, Allegra, Percocet and vanco.
He's lost 73 pounds since February and 4 units of blood this month.

Last time he was admitted the dr was saying something about a j pouch surgery but that if it's crohns then the disease can show up somewhere else. The dr had also said something about indeterminate colitis. I know they are trying to help him but he's not responding to anything.

I know he is desperate to avoid surgery, but it gets to a point where that is the only option left to alot of us. I hope it is UC and not crohns.
:ghug:

I think he needs surgery but he's not to thrilled about a bag. It's so confusing because I read that if you have indeterminate colitis there is a higher chance of j pouch failure and that the surgery they were talking about. This just plain stinks and with the holiday weekend I hope we don't end up in the ER.
