Has anyone had anal rashes? this has been going on for a week....and it is extremely painful...can this be crohns related....my crohns is limited to only my jujenum but is causing me a ton of problems...also, is 6mp effective? thanks in advance!

omgosh!! Yes I have. Last summer I had that AND a heat rash on the back of my legs. Hurt so much I was saying OWIE all the time.

I found Original Boudreaux's BUTT PASTE (yes that is the name) at Dollar General in the baby ointment section. I tried it and it got rid of the heat rash the very next day. It has a pleasant scent and wipes off easily. They have bigger tubes in the grocery store but I found $$ General to be cheaper.

As for the anal rash, while it did relieve the redness and pain, I also used cortisone cream that I had left over from a rash I had last year. (I only have my rectum left and was given a permanent ileostomy to save my life). The coritsone cream worked very well. It was an Rx from my GI surgeon when I was still having issues with a wound that didn't heal.

Since I was a frequent flyer until the wound healed, I asked him about the anal rash and he was very kind enough to give me the cortisone cream Rx.

Have you been checked for fissures? They are tiny cracks that open up and are PAINFUL like heck. I get those every now and then as well even though my butt isn't functioning.

Feel better Cindy. Gutless Wonder Woman :)

My daughter got it. It was a fissure. Only thing that helped, was aloe vera. She had to be put on remicade infusions. Hope you feel better soon.

I have Crohn's and IBD. diagnosed 1994. currently on Remicade every 6wks,Donnatal, aciphex (for Barretts or acid reflux),lomotil, imodium, Klonopin, Effexor and B-12 shots. I have had my colon removed, had temp ileostomy and then reversal,3 intestinal blockages, gall bladder removed, and 2nd resection surgery. I am 56 yrs old Female. I get horrible rashes, especially in the summer and I live in Florida. lol I recently was told by a Dr. to use Lotromin for the rashes. Yes it is a cream for athlete's foot, but the ingredient is zinc oxide which is common in diaper rash products. Not only is it Fantastic, it does not stain my clothes and it works super fast. I used Desitin for years with minimal results thinking I had little or no choice because most Diaper rash/heat rash products were gonna be the same. WRONG!! The Dr is a GI specialist too so he knows. What a relief.

Also, point of interest to the post menopausal ladies out there suffering from vaginal dryness ant itching, great to stop that too!! and my OBGYN said to use Astrogel, which is a lubricant and only made things worse. No pulling your leg this is a tremendous relief finding 1 product to fix 2 issues that have been causing me great difficulty.

Calmoseptine is a particular favorite around here for butt rash/irritation/ring of fire. It has the zinc oxide like for diaper rash, plus has menthol to soothe the burn. It is WONDERFUL!
