So yesterday I had a colonoscopy done and during the procedure I woke up with excruciating pain on the lower left abdomen... Anyways now that area is still very painful, even if I lightly touch it, it will sting. I also got lots of gas out afterwards. I plan on calling my doctor in the morning, but is this a normal part of having a colonoscopy done? Kind of worried over here, lol.

You woke up during the procedure? I haven't ever had pain afterwards and I have had several.I think I would call someone.I'm not trying to scare you might be normal, but I would ask to be on safe side.

I also was awake during my colonoscopy.. And I had pain in my stomach for about 3-4 day's after the procedure, tell your doctor but try not to worry, remember that they have to be pretty rough during these procedures to get the camera through any narrowings and past all the twists and turns, especially if youre prone to pain in those areas anyway, and I personally think that it is possible to have a little pain from the biopsy sites. I would also say that there could still be some pockets of gas left, which can cause a lot of discomfort.

I did a colonoscopy last week and woke 2 or 3 times during the procedure because of pain (I felt a strong pressure). After the colonoscopy I had a lot of gases but the doctor said it was expected. In the following days I had no more pain. You should call the doctor.
